Wednesday Homework : Just a Reminder That 2015 Best Invention Paper Is Due on Wednesday

Swimming: Water Safety for 12 kids!! How great it was to see such progress. The kids feel much more comfortable in the water. Two kids were able to pass the deep- water test. The rest are well on their way. Swim lessons are available at the Y. Scholarships are available too! As your child outgrows their suit (and there is no one to pass it down to) consider donating it to the class. Sometimes someone “forgets” their swim gear and it is nice to have a couple extra in the room.

Wednesday Homework: Just a reminder that 2015 Best Invention paper is due on Wednesday, 2-10-16.

Goal Setting Conferences: I will be wrapping up conferences this week. It makes for some long days but I enjoy setting goals for the remainder of the year. If you have not set an appointment please contact me.

Valentines Day: The class has decided on the date for our Valentine celebration. It is a super fun day for kids to exchange cards. We will have a small party the afternoon of Tuesday, February 16. Maddie’s family has already sent in plates and napkins and Sam’s family will bring small cupcakes. I am looking for volunteers to donate juice boxes.

Mosiac Night: The third and fourth grade classrooms via their specialists classes are working on songs, dance and art to present to families on Thursday, March 10 from 5 to 7 pm. Mark your calendars. Duluth/North Shore Overnight trip: Planning has begun for our overnight trip. The first step is to fill out paperwork and get approval from the district office. This is an important part of our Minnesota geography and history curriculum. All students are invited and expected to attend. It is anticipated that the cost will be $65.00. We will be sending information out on Wednesday and you can pay a $25.00 deposit at that time.
