2017-2018 Tech Rules

**Everyone must communicate any offenses and consequences to all of the staff members that their students work with. (i.e. Encore Team, Hearing Impaired Teachers, EC, Speech, etc.)

BYOT Consequences: These occur when a student brings a device on a non-BYOT day or does not turn in a device when they arrive at school. (same as our BYOT Agreement)

First Offense - Student will receive a warning and a phone call home. Second Offense - Student will be banned from bringing his/her personal device for 1 week. Third Offense - Student will be banned from bringing his/her personal device for 1 month. Fourth Offense - Student will be banned from bringing his/her personal device for 3 months. Fifth offense - Student will be banned from bringing his/her personal device for the remainder of the year.

Misuse or mistreatment of a device:

First Offense: If a student misuses or mistreats any device, they will lose their technology privileges for one week. Second Offense: If a student misuses or mistreats any device, they will lose their technology privileges for one month. Third Offense: If a student misuses or mistreats any device, they will lose their technology privileges for two months. Last Offense: If a student misuses or mistreats any device, they will receive a Mustang Mistake and lose their technology privileges for on the rest of the school year.

Inappropriate Searches:

First Offense: If a student searches for inappropriate material, they will receive a Mustang Mistake (major offense) and one month of no technology privileges. Second Offense: If a student searches for inappropriate material for a second time, they will receive a Mustang Mistake (major offense) and two months of no technology privileges. Third Offense: If a student searches for inappropriate material for a third time, they will receive a Mustang Mistake (major offense) and no technology privileges for the remainder of the school year.
