Morgan’s Run Disclaimer Participant’s Agreement, Waiver, Release, and Acknowledgment. In consideration of your accepting this entry, I hereby, for myself, my heir, executors and administrators, waive any and all rights and claims for liability and damages I may have against Bates College and the Morgan McDuffee Memorial 5K Run/ Walk, its employees, agents, officers, governors, sponsors, and volunteers, the city of Lewiston, and the state of Maine for any and all injuries suffered by me in or arising from said event. I further understand that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity and that I should not enter the road race unless I am medically able and properly trained.

Help make this a successful fundraiser for Morgan’s Fund under the Maine Community Foundation. Your pledges will benefit the state of Maine and New England by contributing directly to a fund that works against violence in our society and aids efforts that promote peaceful means of resolving conflict. All contributions are tax-deductible.

We appreciate your support! All Pledges will be collected at the Race. If you raise $75…..….you will receive a Race hat. If you raise $125…….you will receive a long-sleeve Race T-shirt. If you raise $200 ……you will receive a Race sweatshirt. (Shirts and hats will be mailed to participants following the race.) Note: You don’t have to raise pledges to participate in the Race.

Total Donations $ ______Morgan’s Run Beneficiary Morgan’s Fund with the Maine Community Foundation Helping Parents Raise Community Oriented Children and Children Resolve Conflict Peacefully Mission: Morgan’s Fund provides grants to those efforts in the Northeast which demonstrate a dedication to breaking the cycle of violence in our culture. Morgan’s Fund aids efforts that work to prevent the harmful effects of violence on young children in society. Morgan’s Fund places special emphasis on the ability of children in a violent home to overcome the trend of recreating violence in later years. In Memory of: Morgan McDuffee, Bates college economics student and lacrosse captain. Morgan attended Lexington High school and Killington Mountain Ski School. Remembered for his vitality, leadership and courage, Morgan was murdered while rescuing two teammates.

Morgan’s Fund has benefited efforts such as, the Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence (CPHV) peer leadership programs in Maine. CPHV works with schools throughout Maine in addressing the widespread problems of bullying, teasing and the use of degrading language and slurs.

Start Time 12:30 pm Race Introduction 1:00 pm 5K Run/Walk

Courses The 5K route: Starts on Central Ave (at the Gray Athletic Building), heading North to Montello Ave where runners take a left until they reach College St. going south until Mountain Avenue when they will head right until Maine Street where they will go south and then take a left on Frye Street until College where they will take a left and then a right onto Campus Avenue where the finish will be at the corner of Campus and Central Avenues. The 1 Mile Walk: Marked on campus route.

Awards Presented to top three overall male and female finishers in each age category: 12 and under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+

Parking Facilities Free parking available on streets and in lots surrounding the Gray Athletic Building.
