Nws Ski Trip Announcement & Permission Slip

NWS SKI TRIP GUIDELINES & EXPECTATIONS

Read to group before loading bus and departing:

This is a school trip, so all guidelines apply. This includes no alcohol, drugs, tobacco and such.

You are representing the school so your behavior is expected to be exemplary. This includes cleaning up your tables at the dining areas and cleaning up your trash on the bus.

You are to be with at least two partners from NWS at all times. This means that at the top of a run you agree which lift you will take next and not ride up the lift until all members of your group assemble at the lift. Maintain visual contact with your buddy group. This may mean putting the slower skier in front/beside you.

We use the T.I.T.E. system, which stands for Tell It To Everyone (from NWS). This means that if your partner gets injured, one of you should get the care of Ski Patrol while the other stays with the injured party. Then come out and Tell Everyone from NWS that your partner is injured. Select faculty members with cell phones share their phone number with students to facilitate making contact easier. The idea is for the news to make it to one of the trip faculty so they can go to ski patrol and work out the release of the student. Choose partners now and be ready to tell us your partners before exiting the bus.

Use the facilities at Summit West and Summit Central only. Do not go to Alpental or Hyak.

Renting is done at Summit West.

Stay inside the ski area boundaries at all times.

The use of a helmet while on the slopes is expected/required.

The bus leaves at 10:00pm, you need to be loading up your gear by 9:45pm. If skiing at Central, begin your return to Summit West by 8:30pm. Rental gear needs to be returned by 9:30pm.

Keep the bus(es) neat as you are expected to clean them afterwards..
