INSTRUCTIONS FOR

THE ROTARY CLUB OF NAPERVILLE COMMUNITY SERVICE (Noon Club) GRANT APPLICATION FORM

2010 – 2011 Program Guidelines

There are two funding entities:

1. The Rotary Club of Naperville Charities 2. Naperville Rotary Charities (NRC)

Both Charities fund humanitarian programs only.

Last year Rotary awards ranged from $1500 to $7500

The 2010 – 2011 Community Service Objective will be to focus funding on the following:

Basic Humanitarian Needs

Funding Criteria:

 Applicants must be 501( c )3 organizations.

 No distributions are made to individuals, political groups or political activities, or to Rotarians and their families.

 No awards are made to foundations or other endowment funds which retain the monies.

 Awards are made for the current Rotary year only. There are no multi-year commitments. Annual requests are required. Maximum annual award is $10,000.00.

 Focus is on organizations with low fundraising and administrative expenses. (Attach pg.1 of Form 990)

 Distributions must benefit Naperville and surrounding area.

 Rotary funds must have a measurable impact on the organization and the community it serves.

 Completed applications must be received by February 15th. Verbal requests will not be accepted.

GRANT APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Requests will be reviewed in April of every year with distributions expected before the end of the Rotary year (June 30th).

“Basic Humanitarian Needs” are essentials that are needed in order to prevent the threat to the health, safety, security, or well being of a community or other large group of people. In other words, to provide essentials to people in need. The simplest of needs such as food, clothing, shelter, physical and mental health, education, and sanitation. Any need that sends a person from poverty to a crisis situation.
