The William K. Humbert Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor the memory of William (Bill) Humbert, who was a strong supporter of education and the Gorham Fayette Schools. It is an annual scholarship in the amount of $1,000 which will be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend a FOUR YEAR college or university. All application information must be typed, attached to this cover page, and submitted on or before first school Friday of April to be considered for this scholarship.

1. Write an essay explaining why you would like to receive this scholarship and believe that you are deserving of the award. Include in this essay:

A. Your reasons for attending college including career goals.

B. Pertinent high school academic information and achievements.

C. Extracurricular and community activities participation.

2. In a few paragraphs describe your financial need. Include relevant financial factors particular to your family or situation.

3. Obtain and include 3 letters of recommendation from teachers at Fayette High School.

4. Attach a transcript

Note: Students must have achieved a 2.0 or above GPA in order to be considered for this scholarship.
