Grading:

Student grades will be based on the following:  Summative Assessments: (70%) (includes quizzes, tests, and projects)  Formative Assessments: (30%) (includes unfinished classwork, assignments, labs & activities, bellwork, contribution to class discussion, and group work.)

These formative and summative grades will be averaged to create a grade for each marking period. Students and parents can expect progress reports periodically AND may access their Parent Connect account, so there are no surprises! Grades are updated weekly. Other grading policy information:

 Late/missing work is accepted up to the date of the assessment for the material presented.  Test retakes/makeups are allowed before or after school by appointment only. ◦ Retakes must be approved by parent and teacher. ◦ If a student is absent and needs a test makeup, it must be done before or after school by appointment only within five days of the initial assessment.

Necessary Daily Supplies:

 notebook  folder  pen or pencil daily  assigned textbook  jumbo book cover

General Information:

Students will be assigned a mailbox number. They will retrieve graded assignments from their mailbox. Students should write their name, mailbox number (not student ID number), date, and hour on all assignments for this class.
