RACE 1 – Curtains & Blinds Juvenile (1) 515M Miss Floss, Bag Of Spice and From The West were slow out. Soon after the start Awesome Ellen crossed to the rail, checking Murrayfield. At the same time Bag Of Spice and Miss Floss bumped. Approaching the first turn Murrayfield, Bag Of Spice and Awesome Ellen bumped, checking Awesome Ellen, shortly after From The West and Miss Floss bumped. At the same time Petrie checked off the heels of Buckle Up Neiko. On the first turn Murrayfield and Bag Of Spice bumped, checking Bag Of Spice. On the second turn Petrie checked off the heels of Awesome Ellen. On the third turn Awesome Ellen and Murrayfield bumped, checking Murrayfield and resulting in Bag Of Spice being checked. Entering the home straight Buckle Up Neiko and Awesome Ellen bumped. In the home straight Buckle Up Neiko and Awesome Ellen bumped on several occasions. Petrie underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a sprain to the right hind quadriceps. Petrie has been stood down from racing for a period of 10 days. Awesome Ellen underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr B Deverell in relation to the racing manner of Awesome Ellen in the home straight. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Deverall, stewards were of the opinion that Awesome Ellen had turned its head outwards and had made head and muzzle contact with Buckle Up Neiko and in doing so had marred the running of that greyhound pursuant to GAR 69(1)(a). Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(2)(a) Awesome Ellen has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days, Launceston only, and until the completion of a satisfactory trial. Approaching the first turn Ukulele Roy checked off the heels of Cruising Bond, shortly after Motlop Magic checked off the heels of Bitmore Lyndee. On the first turn Cruising Bond crossed to the rail, severely checking itself, Enfield Magic and Your Nothin’ which fell and resulted in Bitmore Lyndee, Knocka Lefty, Idle Bye and Ukulele Roy being checked. Soon after the start Feraro Dreams crossed to the rail, checking Aston Zizzle, Lucias Cain and Vel Magic, shortly after Feraro Dreams and Open Bar bumped. Approaching the first turn Lucias Cain checked off the heels of Feraro Dreams, bumping with Aston Zizzle. On the third turn Alvin Benz and Lucias Cain bumped. On the home turn Vel Magic and Feraro Dreams bumped. At the same time Alvin Benz checked off the heels of Vel Magic resulting in Aston Zizzle being checked, shortly after Lucias Cain and Aston Zizzle bumped, checking both greyhounds. GENERAL Bee’s Girl completed a steward’s satisfactory trial as it had not raced for in excess of six months pursuant to LR 31.3 and after it was also stood down from the North West Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 16th April 2013 pursuant to GAR 74(1) as this greyhound had collapsed in the catching pen following its event. Weighing 28.5 kilos and beginning from box 3, Bee’s Girl completed the 515 metre trial distance in a time of 30.85. Bee’s Girl has been cleared to race at all tracks.
