A. Johnson High School in 1962; and 26 27 Whereas, at an early age, she accepted Christ into her life and 28 united with Jones Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion 29 Church. Later she joined Oak Grove Baptist Church where she 30 devoted herself to numerous responsibilities, including service on 31 Pulpit Aide and Gospel Choir and as the church treasurer and a 32 trustee. After that, she became a member of First Nazareth Baptist 33 Church where she served on several auxiliaries; and 34 35 Whereas, she earned two associate degrees from Midlands 36 Technical College, one in political science and the other in 37 criminal justice; and 38 39 Whereas, for over twentyfive years, Mrs. Jennings served the City 40 of Columbia, retiring as a municipal court bailiff in 2005, and then 41 she served as a security officer with the Office of Homeland 42 Security from which she retired again in 2009; and

[1151] 2 1 2 Whereas, Dianna Jennings reared three fine children: Donnell, 3 Dawn, and Dellisa. They blessed her with eight beloved 4 grandchildren: D’Shea, Durrell, Donisha, Cameron, Taylor, Alicia, 5 Zariya, and Ar’mon. She also had the joy of three 6 greatgrandchildren; and 7 8 Whereas, with a love of life, she enjoyed traveling, line dancing, 9 reading, skating, gardening, and playing pokeno; and 10 11 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful 12 for the life and legacy of Dianna Jennings and for the example of 13 service and kindness she set for all who knew her. Now, therefore, 14 15 Be it resolved by the Senate: 16 17 That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, 18 express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Dianna 19 Jennings of Richland County, and extend their deepest sympathy 20 to her large and loving family and her many friends 21 22 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to 23 the family of Dianna Jennings. 24 XX 25
