40th Surrey Junior Easter Chess Championship

Easter Monday 17th April 2017 at Aldro School Lombard Street, Shackleford, Godalming, GU8 6AS

The Surrey Junior Easter Championships will be run at Aldro School on Easter Monday,17th April 2017 for eight sections: under 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, plus 2 new sections for U15 and U18. There will be a trophy for the winner of each section as well as medals for those participants scoring three points out of five games. The U11, U13, U15 and U18 sections will be sent for ECF grading.

Arrival 9.45 am Round 1: 10.00 – 11.00 am Round 2: 11.30 am – 12.30 pm Round 3: 12.50 – 1.50 pm Round 4: 2.10 – 3.10 pm Round 5: 3.30 – 4.30 pm Prizegiving: 4.50 pm

Please note that this is not a knock out tournament. All five rounds will be played by all participants. Clocks will be used on all boards for the U11, U13, U15 and U18 graded sections where players will have 30 mins each to complete all their moves. For the lower age sections, games not completed at the end of the time period will be adjudicated. Scoring is 1 point for a win, ½ point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.

Please make sure the given information for age and date of birth is accurate on the entry form to ensure entry to the correct section. Ages are calculated as at midnight on 31st August 2016.

Entry Fee: £16 for first player, £10 for each additional playing family member. A late entry fee of an additional £5 will be applied for entries received after the closing date of Wednesday 12th April. There is a also a £2 grading fee for non ECF Silver Plus members. No entries will be accepted on the day. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Refreshments: an excellent variety of hot and cold food will be available at the venue all day. Parking: Free parking is available at the venue all day.
