A questionnaire to be completed by CC’s and returned by 17.1.20 a) Participatory Budgeting: Angus Council have set aside funding totaling £50,000.00 for “Forfar & Kirriemuir Partnership”. This comprises the 8 Community Councils within the Partnership, of which Inverarity CC is one of them. The funding is to be divided equally between the 8 CC’s which means our area is entitled to £6250.00 for the year 2019/20. The idea behind it that is to give people a direct say on how public money is spent. There are guidelines/rules/restrictions on how this money is to be spent. A deadline for ideas/suggestions has been set at 10.1.20 which does not give us much time to get the information out to the community and Communities Department at Angus Council are very much aware of this. We believe that funding is allocated under the following headings: 1) Accessibility and Connectivity (i.e.Transport, Digital, Access to Services) 2) Mental Health and Wellbeing 3) Reducing Poverty 4) Social Isolation It is also our understanding that individual applications are restricted to a minimum of £300.00 and a maximum of £1000.00. Carole to contact AC to confirm this. There is a link on Angus Council website www.shapingangus.co.uk which is open to all members of the community to put forward their suggestions on which the money can be spent. AC will supply publicity material. Elizabeth and Carole had both attended meetings regarding the above and both felt that there were still questions to be asked. Discussion took place and it was agreed that we hold a Special Meeting as soon as possible and invite a representative from Communities Department at Angus Council to come along to clarify the role of Inverarity CC in this and to also answer any questions which arise. Secretary to check availability of Community/Kirk Hall. Representatives of local groups/organisations to be contacted and of course any member of the community is welcome. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE FOR THIS SPECIAL MEETING HAS NOW BEEN ARRANGED FOR TUESDAY 10TH DECEMBER 2019 AT 7.30PM IN THE COMMUNITY/KIRK HALL.
