Operations Council Meeting Minutes October 27, 2009
The Operations Council of the MU Partnership for Educational Renewal (MPER) met on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at the Elks Lodge in Columbia, MO, after sessions consisting of reports from Faculty Research (Carol Gilles of LTC, Wendy Reinke of ESCP, and Karen Weston of ESCP). Members:

Nicole Spencer called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
Approval of Minutes from September 20, 2009 Meeting
Spencer asked the group to review the minutes from the September 22, 2009, Operations Council meeting. Kenneth Blanton moved to approve the minutes as written. Kathy Unrath seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Reports
“ Elementary Educator Preparation on the Move at MU” Linda Bennett, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Associate Professor for the Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum department, provided information on the Teacher Development Program’s four phases as well as the elementary Senior Year On-Site Program. Bennett asked for input from the members regarding the impact of MU teacher preparation programs on partner school students, faculty or staff. She also asked for input on new ways partner schools could be impacted.
Develop Topics for January 26, 2010 Meeting of Operations Council – Program will be “Open Space”
Spencer briefly explained the open space design from last year. She then explained that we needed both ideas on what the districts would like to hear about as well as ideas/offerings about things in their district that they might like to share with others. Notes were collected.

With no further business to discuss Willicia Hobbs moved to adjourn the business meeting. John Rinehart seconded the motion. The motion passed, and the business meeting was adjourned 1:50 p.m.
