Yet, in Your great mercy, You forgive what we have been. We pray that You now will amend what we are and direct what we shall be, that we may henceforth walk in Your light, delight in Your will, and reflect Your radiance, to the glory of Your holy name. Also, pray for Grace Community Chapel of South Brunswick NJ, and Pastor Jae Park. Keith and Debbie B.: In the past year, Keith and Debbie have worked hard at developing a team to help them run the rapidly expanding North Region of Africa. The region they lead has grown to approximately 100 adult workers living in 9 countries that are closed to the Gospel in North Africa and the Horn of Africa. In 2013, mid-year, both Keith and Debbie will have been working with AIM for over 30 years. We praise God for their dedicated service. They thank Cedar Hill for supporting them with our prayers and finances for many years. World Renew: Introducing the World Renew’s International Rapid Response Fund: a new fund that will enable it to respond FASTER and MORE FREQUENTLY to low-profile international disasters, even those that receive little or no media coverage but where urgent needs for humanitarian support are great. Your donation will go far and fast. Please call 800-552-7972 today or visit www.worldrenew.net, or mail your check marked “International Rapid Response Fund” to World Renew, 2850 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49560. Join us on Wednesday, April 24 for a free webinar, “Be an effective Deacon in today’s church,” which will identify the main roles of the deacon, discuss how deacons can be more effective with benevolence needs, and learn how to encourage good stewardship of time, talent, and finances. This webinar will be presented by Bernita Tuinenga and Dave Ellens, Co-Executive Directors of Volunteers in Service (VIS). Visit www.crcna.org/webinars for details and registration. World Missions: It’s poster time! CRWM 2013 Poster Contest has begun. Create a poster with a missions theme and send it in to CRWM by April 19, 2013. Themes, guidelines, and submission forms are available at www.crwm.org/postercontest. A CULTURE OF PRAYER MORNING WORK Read Psalm 143 “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” (Psalm 143:8)

When my students enter the classroom in the morning, they have an assignment on their desks to set the mood for the day. It’s called “morning work” – something easy enough to understand yet hard enough to make them focus. In Jesus’ classroom we need morning work, too. We get to choose what it will be depending on our life situation and ability. Morning people may pray in the morning. Night people will probably go back to sleep if they tried that. Singing praise songs may work for them. A single mom may not want to sing. Better to read the Bible silently and let those kids sleep. If you are reading this in the morning, perhaps you have chosen this yourself. Every day we are reminded that we are here to glorify God whose love is unfailing. Even Jesus had morning work. Mark 1:35 says, “Very early in the morning . . . Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Whatever time of day it is, we lift our hearts to the One whose mercies are renewed to us without fail.

INSIGHT: Every day is important. Starting out with the right attitude means you have more time to use the day for the reason God made it. ~Tom Petersen, Anchor

When Morning Lights the Eastern Skies

Psalm 143 When morning lights the eastern skies, Thou art my God, to Thee I pray, O lord, Thy mercies show; Teach me Thy will to heed; On Thee alone my hope relies, And in the right and perfect way Let me Thy kindness show. May Thy good spirit lead.

Teach me the way that I should go; For Thy Name’s sake, O gracious Lord, I lift my soul to Thee; Revive my soul and bless, For refuge from my cruel foe And in Thy faithfulness and love To Thee, O Lord, I flee. Redeem me from distress.
