PRELIMINARY MATTERS Richard Oswald, Vice President of the Board of School Directors, called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by seven members. Those in attendance were: Mr. Barsottini Mr. Klein Dr. Kasunich Press – 0 Mr. Emge Mrs. Lambert Dr. Miller Mr. Fitzgerald Mr. Oswald Mr. Brandenburg Mr. Gabauer Mr. Young Visitors – 6 Mr. Caputo and Mrs. Wagoner were absent.

Motion (Mrs. Lambert, seconded by Mr. Gabauer) to approve the minutes of the meeting on July 17, 2008. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes; 0 – No; Motion Carried

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE – Kevin Klein Motion (Mr. Klein, seconded by Mrs. Lambert) to approve moving the following employees on the salary schedule for the 2008-09 school year: Megan Anderson – Masters Kelley Engle – Masters + 12 Mary Jane Lombardo – Masters Jayne McDonald – Masters + 21 Gretchen Veri – Masters + 21 Rhonda Androlia – Masters + 30 Sarah Kelley – Masters LuAnne Maginness – Masters Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried

Motion (Mr. Klein, seconded by Mr. Barsottini) Brian Bain, 102 Timber Ridge Drive, Baden, for the science position at Highland Middle School. His salary will be $34,500, Step 1 Bachelors. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried

Motion (Mr. Klein, seconded by Mr. Fitzgerald) Angie Rolston, 110 Birnesser Drive, Beaver Falls, PA for the paraprofessional position at Blackhawk Intermediate School at the hourly rate of $7.15. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried

Motion (Mr. Klein, seconded by Mr. Emge) for Joy Schneider as BHS Newspaper Advisor at a salary of $1,285.84. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried

EDUCATION COMMITTEE – Rich Oswald Motion (Mr. Emge, seconded by Mr. Klein) to approve the BHS Band field trip to perform in the Disney Magic Music Days in Orlando, Florida, April 18 – 23, 2009. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS/REAL ESTATE – Jeff Emge Motion (Mr. Emge, seconded by Mr. Fitzgerald) to dispose of the unused/unwanted supplies and equipment. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried

ATHLETICS COMMITTEE – Kevin Klein Motion (Mr. Klein, seconded by Mr. Emge) to contribute $1,000 to the Blackhawk Area Youth Baseball Association toward the purchase of field maintenance supplies. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried

POLICY – David Gabauer Motion (Mr. Gabauer, seconded by Mr. Barsottini) to accept the first reading of Policy #246, Student Wellness Policy. Roll Call Vote: 7 – Yes, 0 – No; Motion Carried
