Teaching and Research Experiences 2010.05-present, Research Assistant, of the project, “The Change of China’s Interest Rate and Development of Financial Market-An Analysis from the Perspective of Clinometric and Institution (1770-2008)”. Main job: collected data about interest rate in private debt from historical archives. This is the first trial to establish a long-term private interest rate database in China. China has numerous historical documents, however, few economists dig up usable quantitative data from this huge potential resources. Research in Progress 1. The effect of China’s monetary policy on sectoral investment. This is my thesis for the master degree. I want to write a literature review on the effect of monetary policy, and then use China’s quarterly data to empirically test the effect in China’s case. One different approach I take from others is that I will make a distinction among different sectors since there are huge sector level differences in China. 2. The effect of China’s labor misallocation on TFP losses. I only have a raw idea about this. Much recent literature focuses on the impact of financial frictions, which plays an important role in decreasing China’s TFP. On the other hand, labor market misallocation is another important potential source for China’s TFP losses. I come up with this idea, since many university students are preparing for the civil servant recruitment examination, and less productively monopolistic SOEs are the primitive choice for most graduates. I want to formalize and model this idea after I finish my first thesis.
