11/2004 - 12/2014 Verizon Communications Installation and Maintenance Technician / Fiber Optic Splicer and System Technician.  Establishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment.  Connect, disconnect, remove, rearrange, and maintain connecting customer lines with Central Office equipment. Analyze, test, repair, and maintain telephone switching circuits and equipment using associated test equipment such as sidekick.  Performs cable installations of Voice, Data, Fiber Optics and Coax cables. Terminate and testing cables of copper and fiber optic cables Splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cable including single mode, multimode, stranded and ribbon. Working knowledge of using various fusion splicing and optical testing equipment. Knowledge, understand and identifying knowledge the difference between CAT 3 and CAT 5; Riser; Fiber optic; PVC, riser rated and plenum cable; Plenum and PVC environments.  Ability to work with others and work independently; Ability to climb and work at elevations; Ability to plan network installations.  Review and interpret work orders, wiring lists, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings and follows standard practices in the performance of job duties.

 Independently, can perform set ups for a diversity of parts under close tolerances.  Operate Cincinnati CNC Lathe to perform a variety of operations such as drilling, milling, reaming, turning or tapping metal work pieces to routing standards and specifications.  Ability to program, set up, proof and operate CNC. Select required tools for manufacturing process. Follow through on job materials and functions as required. Performed control functions to indicate, set tools and offsets, call out tools, and modify programs.  Uses variety of precision measuring devices, indicators or probes, takes measurements, or gages or by some other means determines exact location of work piece relative to machine cutting tools. Proficient in running two machines as required. Adjust machine feed and speed rates. Inspects finished parts.
