Women’s Healthy Eating Group Greta Macaire, MA, RD, CSO

This six-session course, led by UCSF Cancer Center Nutritionist, Greta Macaire, is designed to promote nutritious eating and a healthy lifestyle to optimize health and well-being after cancer treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation) or while on long-term maintenance treatment. Components of the program include: nutrition and physical activity guidelines for cancer survivors; weight guidance; updates on the latest research on compounds in foods that promote health; mindful eating, and much more.

Pre-Registration is required as space is limited. For more information or to sign up please call Greta Macaire at 415-885-7608. There is no charge though a $10 per class donation is suggested. A commitment to attend at least 4 of the 6 sessions is requested.

Sexuality After Cancer Sueann Mark, PhD Like every other aspect of your life, sexuality may never be the same after cancer. In this workshop you will learn ways to adapt to your new body and create a fulfilling post-cancer sex life. You will be encouraged to evaluate and express how cancer and its treatments have impacted your sexuality and seize the opportunity to grow as a sexual being. Presented by Sueann Mark, PhD, a board certified clinical sexologist and a three-year breast cancer survivor.

Those survivors who are not currently in active treatment, singled and partnered, are welcome to attend. Location to be determined. No charge.

This is a film and discussion series: each week we’ll view and then discuss a short documentary on health disparities and health-related social issues like the significance of “race,” ethnicity, social class, and immigration history.

Each 30-40 minute screening will be followed by a group discussion led by a guest facilitator with interest and experience in issues of health disparities.
