Bellwood-Antis School District PTO Meeting Minutes April 9th 2015 @ 6:30 pm LGI – Myers Elem

Members Present: Dawn McCartney, Elena Caracciolo, Karen Miller, Ronda Hescox, Heather Caracciolo, Danielle McClellan, Julie Berliner, Scarlett Kennedy, Gwen Schreier Call meeting to order by: Dawn McCartney Approved minutes from March 2015: 1st motion: Gwen Schreier 2nd motion: Scarlett Kennedy MS/ES treasurers report: Total checking: $62,184 Total savings: $10,356.20 Other: Dawn and Ronda going tomorrow to First National to close account there. Old Business: Kindergarten Registration went well. No changes recommended for next year. Talent Show review: Went very well. Mrs. Harpster thanked the committee and stated that it was well organized. Dress Rehearsal/Community night raised money for the Backpack program. Something to consider is a dress rehearsal prior to community night; however, may be difficult getting children and volunteers there to participate. Social decorating review: Theme was Under The Sea. Went very well. More volunteers for next year would be beneficial. ES Picture Day: Went very well. Finished early. Gardners Candy: very profitable fundraiser: $17,000+

New Business: April Reward Day: Allegheny Portage Railroad Miss Lenhart requesting a donation for $25 to donate to Canoe Creek State Park. Her students are writing persuasive letters. Kindergarten Fingerprinting: Danielle McClellan is scheduling fingerprinting. Planning on Thursday April 30th. Sunshine Committee: Leah McNaul – baby boy; Bob Fisher – sympathy; Amanda Koozer and Amy Chamberlain – sympathy 8th Grade Field Trip: Gettysburg $3200 for entire field trip including busing. Approved by PTO to approve the $3200 due to only having $3000 budgeted. Bellwood-Antis School District PTO Meeting Minutes April 9th 2015 @ 6:30 pm LGI – Myers Elem

Raystown Transit: Provides transportation and routing for the school buses. Stating that they are in need of drivers for Raystown Transit, especially people who are in the district and have a connection with the district. Asking that we spread the word in the search for drivers. Camp Blue Diamond: May 26, 27, 28. The 27th is the dance/pizza night. Volunteers needed for the 27th for the dance/pizza night. DelGrosso Day: May 29th. Water for $1.00 for volunteers. Snack will be water and brownie. Freeze pops for at the school. Elementary School Field Day: June 2nd. Ask Jamie Weigand about snow cones. Elena will contact Dani Hoffer about the schedule of events. Mr. and Mrs. Danish will need to be contacted about the bug presentation. Pizza will be ordered and sold for $1 or so to volunteers. Middle School Field Day is Minute to Win It.
