What is the Order of Omega: Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for members of Greek organizations. Order of Omega recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization, and within the Greek, campus, and local community. Members are selected from the top 3% of students at each institution. To date, over 500 chapters have been chartered throughout North America, each sharing the common goal of recognizing the many outstanding student leaders at their institution.

Purpose: To RECOGNIZE those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities, to ENCOURAGE them to continue along this line, and to INSPIRE others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment;

To UNITE outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate Fraternity affairs;

To BRING TOGETHER members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness;

To help CREATE an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions.

Eligibility Requirements:  Must have successfully completed 57 credits at NJIT (Junior or Senior status).  Cumulative GPA must surpass the All Greek Average which is 2.878 as of the Fall 2013 Semester.

Note: There is a one-time fee of $80.00 for those individuals selected for membership. This fee includes $50 for national dues which includes: a pin and a certificate as well as local chapter dues of $30. This $80.00 fee is due on or before Initiation into Order of Omega.

Short Essay Questions

1. Since character is the primary consideration for membership in this Order, describe how your character has been exemplary in the Greek Life community, as a student at NJIT, and as a community citizen. 2. How do exemplify the Greek Pillar of Scholarship? What does Scholarship mean to you? 3. What are the three most important values you utilize as a leader? Describe a time that you demonstrated each of these values. 4. Do you have any outside work experience that you feel you have contributed to your Chapter and will contribute to Order of Omega? 5. The Order of Omega is in the process of rebuilding the organization. What qualities and ideas do you have that can help us be successful with this process? 1. List all Greek leadership positions including the dates that you have held. (Committees, activities, etc.) 2. Please list any outside offices you have held within clubs and other organizations and briefly describe the position duties. 3. Please list service events and philanthropy events have you participated in or delegated to the university and to the local community. 4. Please list any events that you have participated in for IFSC or other organizations. 5. Please list any Honors or Awards you have received while attending NJIT (including scholarships).
