Scholarships All You Need to Know About Accessing Information from Naviance /Family Connection
Attached you will find descriptions of scholarships that were awarded to the Class of 2012. We anticipate that most scholarships will be available to the Class of 2013, but circumstances change from year to year, and families, clubs, and other organizations are not always able to continue offering scholarships. Be mindful that not all scholarships require an application; some need a nomination and some are chosen based on a certain set of criteria determined by the organization.
How Do I Get the List? The easiest way to access the national database and local scholarship list is by logging on to your Naviance/Family Connection page- https://connection.naviance.com
For National Scholarships…… On the Home page choose the “Colleges” tab Scroll down to “Scholarships and Money” Click on “National Scholarship Search” You are now at the Sallie Mae Scholarship Search Page Complete the profile section and you will be able to search the Sallie Mae database
For Local Scholarships…… Go back to “Scholarships and Money” Click on “Scholarship List”- this will show you all of the local and national scholarships whose information we have received in the HHS Counseling Office. This list is updated as we receive information so by May it will be very long! Click on a scholarship; which will bring you to the scholarship detail page where you will find a brief description, deadline, website, and application information for this particular award. You will be able to download the application directly from this page, go to a web site for an online application or sometimes you will need to visit the Counseling Office for a paper copy.
It is important to follow all directions and just like your college applications, you must pay attention to the deadlines.
In addition to Naviance/Family Connection, scholarship information is always available to students in the Counseling Office; we have a scholarship book which is kept on the front counter in our lobby. Please see Mrs. Hoagland if you need help accessing scholarship information; she will be happy to help you.
