GANG OF AUTO-LIFTERS BUSTED : TEN STOLEN MOTOR CYCLES RECOVERED AND 10 CASES OF M.V. THEFT WORKED OUT

With the arrest of four accused persons namely Vicky (18 years) S/o Rajpal R/o Sarakthal, Tehsil Gohana, District Sonepat, Haryana, Gulab Khan @ Sonu (23 years) S/o Rafeeq R/o Village Balla, Tehsil Asand, District Karnal, Haryana, Umed (20 years) S/o Daulat Ram R/o Gali No. 14, Saroop Nagar, Delhi and Kamal (name changed being CCL), staff of PS Aman Vihar, Outer District has busted a gang of auto lifters and 10 stolen motor cycles recovered.

TEAM / BRIEF FACTS :

In order to curb the incidents of motor vehicle thefts in the area of PS Aman Vihar, a team consisting of ASI Nand Kishore, HC Balwan Singh, HC Raj Kumar, HC Ajit Singh, Ct. Rajesh, Ct. Sanjeev Kumar and Ct. Sukhbir under the leadership of Inspr. Lakhmi Chand, SHO/PS Aman Vihar and overall supervision of Sh. Dhanveer Dutt, ACP/Sultan Puri was constituted. The team members deployed their sources, eyes and ears scheme was strengthened and closed watch kept on jail / bail release.

On 21.7.10, HC Balwan Singh received a secret information that two young boys who reside in Village Rasoolpur, Kanjhawla, Delhi and indulged in many cases of M.V. theft of the area of Aman Vihar and Nangloi will go Prem Nagar via Mubarakpur Road in the afternoon. Immediately, the members of team swung into action and traps were laid at Mubarakpur Road near Vijay Dharam Kanta. At 3.30 PM, two boys were signaled to stop while riding a Motor Cycle, bearing Regn. No. DL-4S-BK-5**9, the complete number of this motorcycle was later found to be DL-4S-BK-5959, stolen from Bhagya Vihar, PS Aman Vihar and wanted in case FIR No. 177 dated 5.6.10 u/s 379 IPC PS Aman Vihar. One of boys was identified as Vicky S/o Raj Pal R/o Village Sarakthal, Tehsil Gohana, District Sonepat, Haryana and the other was identified as Kamal (name changed being CCL). Vicky disclosed that they had stolen the bike two months ago from Bhagya Vihar, area of PS Aman Vihar. On sustained interrogation, accused Vicky disclosed that he along with his associate Kamal (name changed being CCL) had stolen 10-12 Motor Cycles from Bhagya Vihar, Rani Khera and Mundka area. He further disclosed that they had sold 4 motor cycles to one Gulab Khan @ Sonu r/o Panipat, Haryana, 4 Motor Cycles to Umed r/o Saroop Nagar, Delhi and 1 motor cycle is still with Kamal (name changed being CCL) at his residence.

INVESTIGATION :

During the course of investigation, JWO/PS Aman Vihar was called at the spot and after completion of formalities with regard to apprehension of juvenile, he was taken to his residence and stolen Motor Cycle with fake number plate of DL-4S-9535 was recovered at his instance. The original number of the motor cycle was traced as DL-4S-AW-9973 which was reported to be stolen from Agar Nagar and wanted in case FIR No. 202/10 u/s 379 IPC PS Aman Vihar.

During the further course of investigation, the disclosure statement of accused Vicky was recorded and he led the investigation team to Panipat where accused Gulab Khan @ Sonu S/o Rafeeq R/o Village Bala, Tehsil Asand, District Karnal, Haryana was arrested and four stolen motor cycles were recovered at his instance. On further investigation accused Umed S/o Daulat Ram R/o Gali No. 14, Saroop Nagar, Delhi was also arrested at the point out of accused Vicky and 4 stolen motor cycles were recovered at his instance.

MODUS OPERANDI :

Modus operandi of the accused is that they used to identify motor cycles parked in unattended parking and busy market places. After that one of the accused persons would sit on the targeted motor cycle and would try to start the motor cycle with keys already available with him and other would keep watch. After stealing the motor cycles, they would dispose off them in Haryana for mere Rs. 3000-4000/- and would distribute the amount equally.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS :

1. Vicky (18 years) S/o Rajpal R/o Sarakthal, Tehsil Gohana, District Sonepat, Haryana is a school drop out. He is still unmarried and no source of income. He belongs to a poor family and in order to meet day to day requirements of his family, he started to commit auto lifting.

2. Gulab Khan @ Sonu (23 years) S/o Rafeeq R/o Village Balla, Tehsil Asand, District Karnal, Haryana is a school drop out. He is married and was working as truck driver in Panipat. He belongs to a poor family and had low source of income. In order to earn handsome amount in short span of time, he adopted short cut and started to commit auto lifting.

3 Umed (20 years) S/o Daulat Ram R/o Gali No. 14, Saroop Nagar, Delhi is a school drop out. He is still unmarried and was working as driver of Delivery Van in Wazirpur Industrial area.

4. Kamal (name changed being CCL).
