Sociology Group Presentations: The Sequel “Culture”

 You and your group will be assigned an anthropologist or cultural philosopher.  You and your group must relay the following information to the class in a presentation to last approximately five minutes.  This presentation should be interpreted "artistically." (role play, interpretive dance, song parody, rap, human beat box, mime, etc. – you get the point!!!!)  All group members must be actively engaged.  Some type of visual aid is expected (make them better than last time).  This presentation will take place tomorrow and you are expected to work on it for homework.  Consider the following questions as possibilities to lead you in the right direction.

1. “Anthropologist’s” personal background.

2. What was/is the nature of their work?

3. Who influenced them/who did they influence?

4. Did they face any resistance or criticism?

5. Any other bizarre facts/interesting things?

LAST TIME AROUND, MOST PROJECTS AMOUNTED TO NOTHING BEYOND QUESTION-AND-ANSWER, EVEN IF OUR VISUALS WERE “NICE” OR “NEAT”. LET’S BE A LITTLE MORE CREATIVE THIS TIME AROUND.
