1. Answer any five of the following (limit your answer to 50 words). (4x5=20) a) Write different features of Linux Operating System. b) Show the use of mkdir, cp, who and wall command in Linux. c) Write about shell meta characters with some examples. d) Explain formatted I/O and file stream errors. e) Explain Linux file structure, with directory and file references. f) Write about unreliable signals and interrupted system Calls. g) What is the meaning of zombie process? h) What do you mean by inode? What are important information in it?

2. Describe Logical and physical file systems working of Linux Environment, how Linux support multitasking and multiuser features? (10)

3. What are File and directory commands, show their uses with suitable examples. Also show the use of Filters with some Linux commands. (10) 4. What are 3 types of shells in Linux? Write shell program to compute square, cube and factorial value of a given number. (10)

5. What are System calls? Write about various systems calls and library functions in Linux Environment with suitable examples. (10)

6. Explain file and directory maintenance command with the help of chmod, chown, unlink, link, umask commands. (10)

7. What is a C shell? How will you use C Shell to write compile and run the C Language Programs in Linux Environment. (10)

8. Write about different text editors and their uses in Linux. How will you write a C program to print your university name in C shell? (10)
