MINUTES OF Panto Production Meeting Thursday, 11 TH November 2010
Present: SR, CH, AG, CC, Isobel Chandler, Rebecca Taylor, Chris Stewart, Jodie Robertson, Teri Lambert, Conor Baker, Ellie Edgar, Carl Turner, Charlie Fitzpatrick, Michael Catling, Matt Gambell.
1. Performance Days
Due to unforeseen circumstances and decisions taken by SMT, the dates for the Panto have now changed to Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th December. Changes are with workload and Yr 11 revision I mind. CH stated that chorus were upset about the changes due to family committing to watch on the weekend. SR wants the production team to continue with a positive attitude about the changes. Plus sides are: weekend off and after show party to be organised for the Friday night, with a possible ‘tea’ meeting after school on the Friday too in order to enjoy the last night of performance.
2. Pyrotechnical safety checks
Risk assessments are needed for the show to included pyros.
AG to order from Viking pyros and firing mechanism for a check next week in the Drama studio and for one the week of the show; possibly during dress rehearsal.
A Collett to carry out checks and let us know of decision.
3. Bring music and dance together
CH happy with the singing rehearsals and chorus are picking up the songs well. Two dances already finished so next week the rehearsals for Weds and Thurs lunch and after school will start bringing both the dance and song together. Teri to finish choreography of Cabin Fever this lunchtime (11/11/10)
SR and Connor to organise rehearsal with Chorus for acting scene Tuesday lunchtime
4. Poster Design
CC organising the logo to be designed. Beth Maguire-Smith and Ollie Smith are to design and lead creation of the programme, posters, leaflets, banner and tickets. Aim is to get the design finished by next week and to have drafts of posters and tickets by week beg. 22/11/10 5. Programme Name Check
Jodie to organise a final list of names for the programme – how names will appear and job titles. Need to be finalised and sent to CC a.s.a.p. for the programme and video titles.
6. Production Week
Details of the running of production week are yet to be confirmed due to the changes to the show dates. SR, STi, CC, CH and ST will meet to finalise the plans regarding off timetable days, dress run etc. The rest of the production team are to now look forward to impact in their timetables and see which days would cause less disruption to classes and study.
7. Rehearsals:
Three full weeks left plus show week. Time is ticking and we need to make sure that all of the acting and music/dance is completed with time to spare for run throughs.
Technical team are to liaise with AG and SR for sound and music bites, but will be more heavily involved from the 29th onwards. AG would like music editing to be done by the technical team.
8. AOB
Video – Matt will video on two nights – first to be Weds show – 2 cameras at the back of the auditorium for wide shots. Thursday show - 2 cameras at the back of the auditorium for wide shots and 1 camera middle of the front ro for close ups of action (Matt to record). Chairs need to be blocked out on the ticket booking form – 3 either side at the top and 3 in the front row only on the Thursday night. Matt also wants to create a trailer to be shown on the TV in the science corridor.
Chuckles successful visit – all main costumes got now – Jodie to organise with Mr Keeble if we can borrow the costumes for a day to complete cast photos for the Programme and for display. Jodie to also arrange and let people know of the date for this.
Primary contact for dress rehearsal to be done by CC. Suggested leaflet drop by Connor, Teri, Becky and Harriet. Issie suggested rather than going into assemblies, we can arrange to be there at the end of the primary school day and hand out leaflets in costume – this will engage parents too.
