Dear Year 2 Parents/Carers and Children,

A couple of things before the half term break;

Spelling We will be having our test Thursday this week. So, a recap on all those words the children have been beavering away learning would be a good idea towards the beginning of this week.

End of Term Fun The children have been working so hard this term I would like to give them a little treat this Friday afternoon. We will be watching the Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast. We have recently been writing about the characters and it also happens to be one of my favourite movies too ?.

I thought I would get some popcorn for us to share while we watch. However, if you do not want your child to have popcorn, please could you send in another more suitable snack so they do not feel left out. Thank you.

Reading assessments and books Over the half term break I will need to borrow the children’s reading diaries to assist me when I update their pupil progress folders.

The children will still bring home books for the holidays, it just means you get a break from recording everything ?

Changing after PE As I explained at the beginning of term, we do not have time to get everyone changed after assembly and then get them out of school, to their activities or on the bus in time.

Of course, I can accommodate the occasional need for one or two to be changed or if you have a specific reason that has been agreed beforehand. However, it is not manageable to get even a handful of them changed without everybody being late. Please can I ask for your support with this.

Parent/Teacher Meetings Thank you to all those who have booked appointments to see me. Your slip was sent back with your allocated time last week in the children’s reading wallets. I look forward to seeing you then.

Kind regards

Mrs Reid
