WRC last met on May 15, 2015. Attended by: Bob Lowe, Robyn Grable, Laura Bogardus, Todd Davis, Susan Groomes, Nicole Andrews, Rachel Putman, Lawanna Dendy. And, New Member: Theresa Dixon We had a brief orientation for our new member. We discussed the following items:

 Group Introductions & WRC overview Theresa Dixon, HR Advice Partner with TD Bank, joined our team. Introductions were made by those in attendance and a brief overview of the WRC was shared. WRC Mission is:

1. Leveraging the collective expertise of GSHRM members

2. Engaging in collaborative relationships

3. Advancing key workforce development initiatives

4. Preparing the labor pool to adapt and thrive in a changed environment

th  Greenville HR Management conference veteran’s session (August 25 ) Robyn Grable brought the team up to speed. All speakers have been confirmed. And, the team has drafted questions for the panel. They are: • Charlie Hall, Major, US Marines (Reserves) and Executive Director, Upstate Warrior Solution • Dale Cleaveland, Chairman of the Greenville GE Veteran’s Network and a Captain, USAF Retired • John Warren, Founder and CEO of Lima One Capital • Dr. Judy Smith, Entrepreneur and USAF Retired • Chief Miller to moderate and/or Robyn Grable, Laura Bogardus or Lawanna Dendy ACTION ITEMS: Robyn will organize the questions (i.e. ensure there are no duplicates.) and distribute them at the June meeting for group review. Robyn will reach back out to the Nancy McCartney to confirm Chief Miller as the moderator.

 Greenville CAN – Bob Lowe brought the team up to speed with Greenville CAN (Collaborative Action Network). They would like to partner with GSHRM to have FIVE HR professionals that are also GSHRM members meet with them as a panel of experts. The goal is for Greenville CAN to gain information on how to best work together to employ those with disabilities. ACTION ITEMS:

1.Bob Lowe to narrow down more information for us to recruit volunteers (e.g. event date/time/location). He will reach out to Paula Carnegie with Greenville CAN. 2.Rachel Putman will check with Goodwill to ensure this would not be a conflict of interest for her to see if someone from her team is willing to participate. 3.Laura Bogardus to ask Vernita Harris for permission to send out a special communication to the GSHRM membership regarding this initiative.

 May 19th Greenville re-entry engagement breakfast update Laura reminded the team of this important breakfast and encouraged everyone to participate.

 Mission Continues Fellowship Intern update (GSHRM Board decision) – Lawanna and Laura shared the great news that the board approved the intern. The next step is the application process which ends July 6, 2015. Robyn Grable will connect with Laura and the WRC as necessary to complete the Fellowship application on behalf of GSHRM. Once this is done and approved, the next step is to recruit Fellowship applicants. Robyn will keep us posted.

 November Membership Meeting - Panel on Talent Management (untapped talent) Lawanna informed the team that she has received each team’s research. The teams are: • Veterans – Laura Bogardus and Robyn Grable

• People with disabilities – Bob Lowe and Kelly Scheib

• People with criminal backgrounds – Tia Foster, Lawanna Dendy, Laura Bogardus

• Long term unemployed – Nicole Andrews, Theresa Dixon, Rachel Putman

• Older Workers –Beth Wood, Mary Anne Taylor, Cheri Shumate

• Entry Level Workers – Todd Davis & Susan Groomes ACTION ITEMS: Each team is asked to meet “off-line” to: 1. Submit a creative idea for the meeting title and ice breaker that will get attendees engaged (Laura shared the idea of “Myth Busters”). 2. Identify a SME for your untapped market to submit to the group for consideration to serve on the panel.

 Other Items: Laura asked that we continue to give some thought on how to engage GSHRM members via the website.

Meeting adjourned after reviewing action items. Next WRC Meeting is scheduled for June 19th. And, the remaining WRC meeting date are as follows: July 17, Aug 21, Sept 18, Oct 16, Nov 20 and Dec 18. Location: Hubbell Lighting 701 Millennium Blvd. Greenville, SC, 29607 Time: noon – 1:30.
