John W. Young [Ref (3)] is Henry Dickson Young’s older brother and living near his brother in Arkansas as noted in the 1880 Census records. Henry D Young's brother John W Young and sister in law Josephine also had a son named Luther born about same time as Henry's son Luther. I also have a picture of my great grandfather Henry Dickson Young and great grandmother Martha Jane KING Young. Henry Young’s middle name Dickson is his mother’s maiden name. The Dickson family is on the same 1860 census from Calhoun, Columbia, Arkansas.

(3) Leonard Young is listed on the Arkansas Confederate Pension Records, his wife Elizabeth applied as a widow in 1912. “Rebecca Leftwich, b. cir. 1795, married Leonard H.Young, Sept. 4, 1815.3 Apparently they settled in Oglethorpe County, Ga., but were subsequently in Greene County. Headright grants for Oglethorpe County, Ga., show that Leonard Young was granted 42 acres in 1814 and an additional 176 acres in 1815 on Long Creek, Oglethorpe Co., Ga.4 On Oct. 12, 1822, James Russell deeded land in Greene County to Leonard H. Young, and on Dec. 13, 1829, Leonard H. Young sold 216 acres "on the north fork of Little River bordering Watts" 1 U.S. Census, Troup Co., Ga., 1850, p. 83 # 417 and # 418. 2 For more on John and Mary (Leftwich) Reynolds see Sec. F. On microfilm. 4 See Index of Headright Grants citing pps. 398 and 533. 19 in Greene County, Ga., to John Armstrong.1 Census records show two persons of the name Leonard Young in Oglethorpe Co, in 1820. Leonard Young's[ Sr.] will of Jan. 2, 1823, names his children including son Leonard.2 Census records show Leonard H. Young in Talbot County, Ga., in 1830, and in Troup County in 1840 (listed next to William Reynolds, son of John Reynolds who married Rebecca's sister, Mary Leftwich). The U.S. Census of 1850 for Troup County lists: Leonard H. Young 54M Farmer b. Ga Rebecca 55F " Aston 28M " • Rebecca 23F " Sytha 2IF " James 19M " Frances 16F " Hasseltine 13F " Leonard 15M " Leonard H. Young died in Troup County, Ga.3
