DOWNLOADING CAMP PICTURES

Only camp parents are given access to download a picture. Before anyone is granted that ability, you MUST send us the child’s name and session number along with the Flickr request, before, during or after a camp session they’ve attended. We guard your child’s online presence, and we use these measures for security purposes so that not just anyone can download your child’s picture.

HOW TO BECOME A FLICKR PARENT Step 1: Go to www.flickr.com and open an account. You MUST have an active Flickr account in order to be able to download pictures.

Step 2: Once you have done this, while you are in your FLICKR account, send us a Flickr email (you MUST list your child’s name and session number so we can verify the request is coming from someone who is family), and also “follow” us.

How to send us a Flickr message and follow us at the same time! 1. While you are logged into your Flickr account, on your page under the “You” drop down menu towards the top of the page, select “People”. 2. When opened, click on “Find Friends” (in blue directly underneath “People You Follow” towards top) 3. When opened, at bottom in pink you’ll see “Or try searching for people already on Flickr”. There, type in YMCA Camp Lakewood. 4. When our name comes up, click on our name (will come up as YMCA Trout Lodge & Camp Lakewood. If you see one with name simply as Camp Lakewood – without the YMCA in front of it – this is not our official site). 5. When our main page comes up, look to the right of our name and click on “Follow”. After you’ve done that, while you are still on our page, click on the “More” button (on right of page) and scroll down and click on “Send FlickrMail”. 6. When the message box pops up you MUST list your child’s name and session number he or she will be attending and send the message. We will NOT grant access to anyone who cannot provide a child’s name and matching session number. This is our security measure. Step 3: Once we receive your email and verify the information you’ve provided, we will “follow” you back. You will then receive a message from Flickr that we are following you back. You will then have downloading capabilities.

HOW TO FIND AND DOWNLOAD FLICKR PHOTOS Step 1: Log into your Flickr account and click on us to access the Camp Lakewood site. (This can be done after you’ve created your account and after we are following each other. See above). Step 2: From our main page, click on “Albums”. Step 3: Each album box will give you the session and activity that's contained in that group of pictures – click on the box you want. (Note: Unfortunately, with the hundreds of children that come to camp each year, we cannot identify each and every child in every single picture of each session. Therefore, you’ll have to open the album and look for them. Thank you for your understanding.) Step 4: When you have found a picture you want to download, double-click on that picture. Step 5: When the enlarged picture comes up, click on the down arrow with a line underneath. Step 6: Select the size picture you want to download and click on that size. Step 7: When the picture is done downloading, click on the square download button that pops up (different locations depending upon type of computer system you have. For example, Windows is lower left) and the picture will open up. Step 8: You can then save the picture on your computer. (For example, for Windows programs, click on the “Save As” button and then select the location you want to save it on your computer.)
