EPSILON PI PHI HONOR SOCIETY MEMBER APPLICATION

If a local Epsilon Pi Phi Chapter has been established, you must submit an application through your chapter advisor for invitation into the honor society. If there is no local chapter of the Epsilon Pi Phi Honor Society, an individual can be formally recognized by the National Chapter of Epsilon Pi Phi once the requirements are fully met. An individual member will honor the written By Laws of Epsilon Pi Phi and will be expected to uphold a high standard of excellence. Application Process:

I. Ensure all criteria are met as outlined in the Epsilon Pi Phi By Laws. II. Please include the following with this application: a. Completed application b. Reference letter – Individual applicants must have letter from faculty advisor, academic Dean or program instructor sent from the referral’s email. Local chapter applicants do not need to include as the submission of application by faculty advisor replaces the letter. III. Scanned/electronic copy of transcript or letter verifying GPA and hours completed if not going through local chapter only.

Review and verification of applications are only conducted in February, July and October and completed by the National Chapter for final approval and certificates. If there is no local chapter established the student can be invited into the national chapter.

**The review process may be delayed if information is missing from application. Application fee of $40.00 will be invoiced through PayPal. Certificates will be sent when application process is complete. Please allow up to four weeks for processing after specified review periods.

Questions should be directed to [email protected] EPP Membership Eligibility: The society has three classes of members (Student, Alumni & Honorary) with the following requirements: I. Students: (1) Undergraduate Student Members: Undergraduate membership shall be open to individuals who meet all of the following requirements: (a) Regularly enrolled and pursuing a degree or academic certificate studies program with a major or minor in emergency management, (b) Have completed 15 semester hours of course work in courses in emergency management and 24 semester hours of total academic course work. (c) Maintain a minimum grade of A- (or 3.5 GPA). (d) Must have one letter of reference. The letter must be from an academic advisor, professor or dean of the academic institute the student is attending. (see note below)

(2) Graduate Student Members: Graduate student membership shall be open to individuals who meet all of the following requirements: (a) Regularly enrolled and pursuing a graduate degree of at least 30 semester hours in an emergency management program; Or completing a Graduate Degree of at least 30 semester hours in another discipline with a concentration of at least 15 semester hours in emergency management; Or proposed a thesis or dissertation in another discipline investigating a problem in emergency management. (b) Have completed at least one-half of the academic hours required for the degree program (if not already qualified as an Epsilon Pi Phi honor society member as undergraduate). (c) Graduate level students must maintain a minimum grade of A (3.75 GPA).

(d) Must have one reference letter. The letter must be from an academic advisor, professor or dean of the academic institute the student is attending. Alumni have to have met eligibility while in school. Honorary members are nominated for professional and/or educational contributions to the field through a supervisor or academic advisor or professor with knowledge of student’s accomplishments. Note: Exception to the letter of reference: If you are applying through your local chapter (online programs included), the faculty advisor’s or dean’s signature on the application as verification of requirements met will serve as the reference letter requirement.
