Dear Parents/ Carers s13

Reepham Primary School – 01603 870321 Weekly Newsletter – 14th October 2016 Reach for the Stars!

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Mr Wallis and I have spent the week at the Sakado Azuma Kindergarten - our link school in Japan, and have been learning more about education in Japan. We spent this morning at the local Primary School and were surprised that the teachers still use blackboards and chalk! Last night we met a group of teachers studying for their Master’s degree in Education - we watched a video of Mr Wallis' maths lesson (despite his protests), then spent time discussing our philosophy on education compared with Japan. We have also created a Norfolk beach here, where the Yr. 1 children each created a beach hut, as well as learning about how we use our beaches for recreation throughout the year. Mr Wallis has created videos of each day so we can share our experience with the children.

We'll be back next week, ready to use our new ideas!
