Safe Kids Day Social Media Guide for Sponsors

SAFE KIDS DAY SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDE FOR SPONSORS

In April, we’re celebrating Safe Kids Day to raise awareness and resources to keep kids safe from preventable childhood injuries and deaths due to car crashes, drowning, fires, falls and more. This guide provides suggested posts for Facebook and Twitter to help spread the word.

We have several options available for you:

First, we offer general campaign posts for Facebook and Twitter. These posts have an event focus.

Next, you’ll see the Safer in 7 Campaign. These posts provide an educational component to our Safe Kids Day messaging.

Third, we have fundraising and appreciation posts to help raise money, thank our sponsors and leverage our celebrity heroes.

At the end, we’ve provided graphics, including several wonderful new photos that are yours to use. And we added some tips for how to promote a Facebook post, tips for using Twitter and helpful links.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Julie Kenneally at 202-662-4472 or email at [email protected].

Promoting a Facebook Post

We’ve had great success using ads on our Facebook page. Ads help drive more traffic to your fundraising page. Here are 5 steps to promote a Facebook post:

1. On your Facebook home page, post the Facebook post you want to promote.

2. Once the post is published, click the bottom right button that says “Advertise Post.”

3. Change the maximum budget to the amount you would like to spend to promote your post.

4. Click “More Options” and change the duration of your post to reflect how long you would like the promotion to last.

5. Click “Promote Post.”
