Background and strategic context

Since ancient times was considered a kitchen hearth, the preservation of which played a big role for the entire family. The modern kitchen is the same as to be not only functional space, but also beautiful, warmly decorated. In this proposal we will show you the advice how to make repairs in the kitchen, choose the furniture, how to choose the color scheme and what materials are best to use.

As in all the preparation for the repair work to repair the kitchen recommend action by clearly writing the plan, as the repair in the kitchen is not a simple task. The complexity of repair causes severe requirements that apply to the kitchen space. After all, the kitchen should combine the attractive appearance, convenient location of furniture and household equipment, functionality.

The whole process of renovation of the kitchen can be divided into two main phases - planning and design and decoration.

The first stage - the choice of design. Here, you determine what you will do: major or redecorating the kitchen, renovation or exclusive work by a designer. But, do not forget that the kitchen - the space, the functionality of which is built according to special laws, so the choice of kitchen design are best left to a professional designer.

The second stage - the actual repair. Repair should begin with the training facilities: fully releasing it, ie dismantling old communication, ceilings, wallpaper, plaster, tile plitkuso 2 wall outlet, old floors, baseboards, and then take out the trash. Well, that play to be performed in real designer fantasies ready.

The main priority of this project is to renovate the existing kitchen, having some some limited budget and existing facilities. The main goal can be described as reaching the highest effect with minimal expenses

Project objective

The project’s objective is to reconstruct the existing kitchen, using provided financial and material resources. The main task is to meet and even exceed expectations of customers, since it is going to be a brand project for a manager and a subcontractor’s team.

Assumptions

Now it is time to move on to project planning of our kitchen. To begin with we would like to provide picture of the kitchen before reconstruction.

As we can see it is quite a typical kitchen without any specific and original elements.

The colors are traditional and calm. Probably, it sounds reasonable to bring more passion to this room. The kitchen is equipped quite nice, but it would be great to implement some innovations. 3

First of all, we would like to provide some basic principles, according to which the kitchen is going to be designed and constructed.

The kitchen is going to be designed as a combination of modern and traditional elements. We believe that such combination is going to make the kitchen comfortable for the whole family, all generations that live in a family.

Second of all, the kitchen is going to be esthetically beautiful and also convenient. It should be nice to spent time there and to execute all the required tasks.

Finally, this kitchen should be financially available for people. The budget should not be tremendous in the modern conditions of the global financial crisis and its consequences.

The project and design of our kitchen are provided below. First of all, have a look at the overall view of our kitchen.

Most systems can be subjected to change. That's such a kitchen designed from the detached cells. It is a composition originally assumed changes. This is subject to all: the 4 location of the system itself, a variant of "openness" of the room, type of furniture and the ceiling light. A kitchen aesthetics highlight objects that are on the shelves.

From the beginning, the project was laid particular modification: a niche intended for use as a storage room - it allocates large open shelves. But the location of this extraordinary place has prompted otherwise.

Made a bold decision - move the refrigerator from the wall - you can make a comfortable ergonomic workplace accommodation in the shape of L. The open spaces between the shelves, kitchen and bathroom in contact with each other, which makes it possible to communicate without a problem to those who are in them. Such a project is not entirely positive side: "transparency" of the kitchen is the reason that all the dishes visible from many sides, so you need to carefully select the items serving. The shelves can also be done: from the room is not put kitchen items, such as books.

For registration of such dishes typical sequential selection of colors is selected: from the gentle to the understated beige brown shades and finishing a strong red color. Red accents favorably emphasize other colors work area and at the same time in harmony with them. 5

Of course, like any other project this one has some constraints. These constraints are the following:

There are specific deadlines. We have to finish the whole process in two months;

Probably, the tastes of a family that is going to live in the flat are the main constraint of the project. One of the objectives of the project is to meet these tastes and even exceed them;

It is very important to meet ecological, technological and other standards. Generally, we can say that the project must be ergonomic.

“Ergonomics is commonly thought of in terms of products. But it can be equally useful in the design of services or processes. It is used in design in many complex ways. However, what you, or the user, is most concerned with is, “How can I use the product or service, will it meet my needs, and will I like using it?” Ergonomics helps define how it is used, how it meets you needs, and most importantly if you like it. It makes things comfy and efficient”

Governance

Governance in a very important factor in the process of realization of any project. We must say that our project is going to be characterized with three-side governance. First of all, family is going to control the process. Second of all, we are talking about project manager.

Finally, the head of a team of subcontractors is also a part of governance.

Plan of the project’s activities

The following task is to define the sequence of operations that has to be done to construct a kitchen. These operations are the following.

1. Dismantling work (demolition boxes in the closet and the bathroom; removal

linoleum flooring shield screeds, plaster, tile, etc.).

2. Cutting through the doorway to the kitchen in the main wall, the dismantling of

the opening section of the loggia, creating openings for the installation of glass

blocks.

3. Wiring harness.

4. Construction of interior walls of brick.

5. Installation of pipes for hot and cold water supply, sewage, heating, installation

of meter of hot and cold water, filters, "comb" on the risers in the bathroom.

6. Installation of windows.

8. Installing the outdoor unit of a split system air-conditioning.

9. Plastering of the ceiling and walls.

10. The unit of cement-sand screed.

11. Installation of doors.

12. Filling and priming walls and ceilings.

13. Installing the water heater (boiler).

14. The device of electric underfloor heating.

15. Laying floor tiles.

16. Wall cladding tiles.

17. Painting (three layers) ceilings and walls.

18. Installation of the indoor unit of a split system air-conditioning in the living

room.

19. Installation of water radiators.

20. Installation of outlets, switches, light fixtures.

21. Parquet and installing baseboards.

22. Installation of kitchen furniture and equipment.

As it has been already mentioned, all these activities have specific deadlines. Their sequence and deadlines can be described via the so-called Gantt chart. This chart is provided below. The time deadlines are provided in the time periods of five days. The tasks are numbered according to the list above.

Finally, the last task of the plan is to create the budget for our project. As it has been

already mentioned, this budget should be quite moderate in the modern conditions of the

global financial crisis. Our budget is provided in the following table.
