Being presidential is more than just living in a fancy white house with a really big office. Not only does it mean being the Chief Executive of the United States, but it means being someone who can take charge and protect a large organized body of people. The president needs to be someone who is respected by their people, has pride in their country, and believes that they hold the power to make their nation a better place to live.

When asked, people will give many different explanations of what they want in a president. Some may ask for a particular gender, or religion, that will in some way define the person’s ability to effectively lead. Some want a leader who may lean left or right on the political scale, some favoring stricter gun control or the death penalty. Some respond to slogans or campaign promises to “Make America Great Again” or be “Stronger Together”. But what being a president really comes down to is, being a positive leader, and affectively being able to move a nation forward so it can prosper, and grow, until it reaches its full potential.

I believe that a president should be like a mother, someone who will do everything it takes to protect what they love, and to nurture and raise their child, or country, to be the best it can be. A president should be someone who accepts all people, no matter their age, gender, religion, or other social beliefs. They should be fearless, able to operate under great deals of stress and dynamic situations. I would vote for a president who is down to earth, someone who isn’t caught up the two party political system we have, but is more interested in having the government work together as a whole to fix social issues. I’d want the president to be completely honest with the people, and to not withhold any import information whether it is good or bad.

Yes, being presidential does mean that you have years of experience in the political system already, but it also means having years of experience in the real world. It’s more than what the media shows people. It’s a very stressful and demanding career that takes a very special type of person. Many people will try to get their chance at leading a country, but only a few will prevail. The person that makes it through the excessive press and paparazzi and still stands strong is the person that I would like to call the president of the United States.
