Conversations

Conversation 1: Cunius Pelelius & Odral Helvi Odral Helvi: I hope that you’ve continued to honor the boundaries we’ve set. Cunius Pelelius: Of course. We collaborate for official matters when needed, and stay out of each other’s way when it comes to “personal” projects. Odral Helvi: Right. You keep to your business, I keep to mine. No questions, no problems.

Conversation 2: Cunius Pelelius & Odral Helvi. Only if the slave revolt has not happened at the mine. Cunius Pelelius: Records show that ebony production is down from last month. Odral Helvi: Hmm, that won’t do. You know we need to keep it steady, or there will be trouble. Cunius Peleius: We could get more slaves. Odral Helvi: Let’s try working those we already have a bit harder. We’re not that far off the normal quota, and I’d rather not sink profits into more slaves if it can be avoided.

Conversation 3: Cunius Pelelius & Odral Helvi. Only if the slave revolt has taken place. Cunius Peleius: Ruined, all ruined… Odral Helvi: Get ahold of yourself! We can recover as long we have the mine. House Hlaalu has the resources – this operation is too important to abandon. Cunius Peleius: Oblivion take those slaves! What could have caused this? Odral Helvi: Who knows? But if I find the person responsible, I’ll make sure the fetcher pays dearly…

Conversation 4: Foves Arenim & Llaros Uvayn Foves Arenim: The work here has been pretty quiet. Llaros Uvayn: That’s true. It’s so different from when I was serving the House in Balmora. There was always some sort of intrigue going on. Foves Arenim: I was in Vivec, and it was pretty much the same. Llaros Uvayn: We shouldn’t let our guard down, though. All the big powers want a piece of Caldera. The pot could boil over at any moment. Conversation 5: Foves Arenim & Llaros Uvayn Foves Arenim: Have you gathered any intelligence about the surrounding area? Llaros Uvayn: Sure, but there’s not much to report. I’ve found signs of suspicious activity near a cave close to the mine, but that’s about it. Foves Arenim: Any concerns to the east? Llaros Uvayn: No, the cliffs keep us well-protected from the Ashlands. Personally, I think that any real problems with Caldera will come from within.

Conversation 6: Llaros Uvayn & Olumba gro-Boglar Llaros Uvayn: You don’t look too happy, Olumba. Olumba gro-Boglar: [grumbles] Llaros Uvayn: Come on, what’s wrong? Olumba gro-Boglar: I ain’t stupid, I know what’s up. There’s plenty of dishonest dealin’ goin’ on here, and it ain’t right. The Divines want fair play, and we’ll be in for trouble if we don’t clean up. Llaros Uvayn: Well then… maybe you should just keep to your prayers, and let your betters deal with these matters as they see fit.

Single Lines 4: Llaros Uvayn Llaros Uvayn: No movement from Ald’ruhn. Maybe the Redoran are all talk? Llaros Uvayn: Odral should let me take a closer at the mines. I’m sure there are weaknesses we’ve overlooked…

Single Lines 5: Olumba gro-Boglar Olumba gro-Boglar: Divines forgive them… Olumba gro-Boglar: Why won’t they reassign me already? I can’t take it much longer. Olumba gro-Boglar: No good’ll come of usin’ slaves. The gods are watching…
