Information Operations Seminar hosted at Capitol College Innovation and Leadership Institute welcomes Dr. Leigh Armistead for all-day seminar

LAUREL – Capitol College’s Innovation and Leadership Institute presents its first Information Operations Seminar, a full-day session headed by Dr. Leigh Armistead from Goldbelt Hawk LLC, on Friday, April 30, 2010 on the Laurel campus. Bringing in some of the best and most influential of today’s business leaders, ILI Seminars provide participants with an in-depth look at the current trends and issues in STEM fields, cyber security, information operations, as well as the methods business leaders are using to apply leadership skills to solve these issues. In this inaugural seminar, Dr. Armistead will address the gap between information operations theory and reality, and specific strategies for utilizing information operations in a manner by the United States federal organizations that best optimizes the inherent capabilities of this element of power. Dr. Edwin “Leigh” Armistead, CISSP, is the director of business development for Goldbelt Hawk LLC, which currently supports Special Operations Command and the U.S. Navy on a large information operations contract, as well as the program chair for the International Conference of Information Warfare. He has written nine books, 18 journal articles, presented 17 academic papers and served as a chairman for 16 professional and academic conferences. Formerly a master faculty member at the Joint Forces Staff College, Armistead received his PhD from Edith Cowan University with an emphasis on information operations. He also serves as a co-editor for the Journal of International Warfare, and on the Editorial Review Board for European Conference on Information Warfare. The event, held in the Lyceum of the McGowan Academic Center and also broadcast online, will last from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information and to attend this exciting seminar either online or in person, RSVP by April 26, 2010 at www.capitol-college.edu/ioseminar.
