ABOUT THE WINERY Red Rooster Winery is located above Okanagan Lake on the Naramata Bench, just north of Penticton. This area is famous for its southwestern exposure and unique microclimate.

Our home is a winery that brings together the craft of winemaking, a love of local (and sometimes offbeat) art and a taste for delicious seasonal foods.

ABOUT THE WINE Hand-picked from Sukhi Dhaliway Vineyard in North Oliver, Erickson Vineyard in Naramata, and Reid Creek Vineyard in Osoyoos. "It's nice to have the opportunity to blend parcels that we believe to be special and showcase them in a reserve selection. The three vineyards grow in very different climates and each one showcases different qualities of fruit and together they create something special and unique" says winemaker Karen Gillis. Our Pinot Gris Reserve was whole cluster pressed to extract aroma and flavour components and cool fermented in stainless steel. Limited production of 480 cases.

TASTING NOTES This reserve bottling of Pinot Gris really ‘struts its stuff’ with a classic aroma of melon, pear, apple, yellow plum and a hint of spice. This is a medium-bodied, slightly rich wine with an almost creamy mouth-feel, and flavours of juicy tangerine, tropical fruit and melon. Spiced fruit salad flavours linger on the finish. Drink while young and fresh.

FOOD PAIRINGS A terrific Pinot Gris that is right at home with slightly rich food items. Serve not overly chilled with crab cakes and a mayo dipping sauce; pork tenderloin in a brandy cream sauce; butternut squash soup with toasted almonds; smoked salmon cream cheese pinwheels; sweet potato ravioli with toasted walnut, butter and sage sauce; and linguini with shrimp in a garlic cream sauce.
