Groups of robots, dinosaurs, zombies, and ninjas have decided to start a city called Robovampizombaninjasauria. Each group likes to live together with other members of their same group. To make the city run smoothly and efficiently, the mayor has asked that you identify the strengths and weaknesses of each group.
- Match the following groups with their characteristics.
______Robots
______Zombies
______Ninjas
______Dinosaurs
______Vampires
A. This group believes there is no school like the old school. They like to stomp around, eat trees and, occasionally, each other. They don’t need cars or transportation, but they will need to pay tolls on the highway every mile.
B. They’re great at working the night shift, but they need their ambience. They can travel as a bat, but it gets really tiring. This group will only travel in hearses (cars which transport coffins), and they will need 12 hearses to bring in the whole group.
C. This group is absolutely tireless, and they’re always hungry. BRAAAIIIIIIINS!!!! They are too slow to walk on their own, and will need faster travel options. However, to keep them from decomposing, they have to travel in refrigerated box cars. 14 cars will be needed.
D. First you see them, then they’re gone. This group doesn’t use traditional transportation: when they need to get to work, they just *poof* disappear in a cloud of smoke. 6 crates of teleportation smoke bombs will be used per day. Each bomb can only transport 1 mile.
E. They are the future. And they’re HEAVY! These guys may be smart and made of metal, but their weight means that they can only be transported in titanium reinforced tanks. 10 tanks in all will be necessary. - Now that you have identified each group’s strengths and weaknesses, you have to make a few tougher decisions. Each group lives outside the city limits and has to commute to work each day. Based on the following travel costs, rank the groups from most expensive to travel (1), to least expensive to travel (5).
Hearses: $65 per hearse per mile
Highway tolls: $10 for the whole group per mile
Teleportation smoke bombs: $100 per box
Refrigerated box cars: $500 per car per mile
Titanium reinforced tanks: $550 per tank per mile
Rank (most expensive to least expensive)

-The mayor of Robovampizombaninjasauria has now asked you to organize the city in such a way that the inhabitants can get to work downtown easily and cheaply. If the city is paying for travel expenses, where should each group live to minimize the cost to the city?
