Body of Water Safety Plan

______agree to the following terms of this supervision policy:

1. Foster children under 12 will not be permitted to use swimming pool/hot tub unless an adult with current age appropriate 1st Aid/CPR training is there to provide constant auditory and visual supervision. 2. You must ensure age and developmentally appropriate supervision for any child using a swimming pool or hot tub 3. Small pools (such as wading pools) must be emptied every day. Larger pools must be completely surrounded enclosed by a fence that is at least 4 feet high. There should be no vertical opening in the fence that is more than 4 inches wide (1¾ inch for chain link). The fencing should be constructed in such a way as children cannot easily climb it. The gate to the pool fence should be self-closing, and the latch should be up high enough to be out of the reach of children. Pool covers are not considered appropriate safety devices. 4. Hot tubs shall have a locking, rigid, hardtop cover. 5. Gate to pool and/or cover to hot tub will remain locked at all times when not in use. 6. If the pool has an access ladder it will be removed and made inaccessible to children when the pool is not in use. 7. Foster children will only be permitted to use the swimming pool/hot tub with signed social worker permission.
