The Meeting was called to order at 9:00 am by Nick Tatman, SFY 2017 Chairperson. Previous Minutes: Previous minutes are unavailable at this time and will be reviewed at the next meeting. Finances: Kim Martin presented the budget sheet. Vince Yaniga moved to accept the report. Pam Hively seconded the motion. There was no additional discussion. Motion passed unanimously.

 Kim Martin presented information regarding the Engage program. Due to federal changes and funding reduction, Committee will no longer pursue participation. Instead, the Committee will partner with BREATHE through the Ross/Pickaway Strong Families/Safe Communities grant. BREATHE has signed an MOU with FCFC and pledged $21,000 towards wrap-around services for at-risk children.

 Teresa Junger from the ADAHM Board shared that her agency received $9,800 in respite funding to be shared among the counties served.

 Kim Martin discussed the need for donations to FCFC. She will meet with Executive Committee to discuss how to bolster a campaign. Training: There will be an upcoming regional training titled “FCFC 101”, which will focus on shared accountability. Kim Martin will, attend and this information will then be shared on a local level. Shared priority information for Pickaway County FCFC is: 1) youth and young adults in transition, 2) mental health services, and 3) addiction services. Program Updates: Scioto-Paint Valley Mental Health: A data snapshot from SPVMH was shared in the agenda packet, and reviewed by Randy Dockery. Randy shared changes to SPVMH’s services, including the addition of a new psychiatrist and a renewed focus on group services. SPVMH is currently offering three opportunities for group programming: 1) life skills, 2) anger management, 3) coping skills. In addition, SPVMH is expanding its residential center for addiction and detox services for both women and men. Help Me Grow: Dana Chestnut gave an update on the HMG program, which was shared in the agenda packet. Highlights included:

 An increase by $8,000 for FY 2017 and an increase in referrals from last year by 11%.

 An overview of Child Find/ Public Awareness activities already completed

 An overview of Child Find/ Public Awareness activities planned for the rest of the year.

 The Early Intervention grant decreased by 10%, and the part time service coordination position is no longer funded.

 HMG Early Intervention is officially under the umbrella of DODD as of July 1st.

Teen Task Force: Marie Wilbanks shared information about the final Summer Concert Series on August 20th (flyer in agenda packet). TTF is purchasing back-to-school backpacks for teens, and requesting give-aways from agencies to include. There will also be a resource fair for anyone interested in sharing information. BREATHE: Vicki Pierce reported that BREATHE held an Open House at their Teen Center, which was well attended. She is continuing to scout for a location in Pickaway County, but has not yet had success. BREATHE recently hired a behavior support consultant for families. She is also noticing a trend that children who have a developmental diagnosis but do not qualify for DD services are requiring additional support and have unmet needs. Finally, there will be a Trauma-Informed Care training in Ross County on October 4th. CONNECTIONS: Kim Martin reported on the Connections Mentoring Program, which is currently meeting the needs of 18 multi-system youth. Ohio Child Trust Fund: A regional focus group is meeting on 8/10/2016 to conduct a needs assessment for Pickaway County. PAC: School districts are interested in hosting 360 Groups. Kim has Committee-purchased curriculum for anyone who is interested in accessing this resource.

AGENCY UPDATES:

Elaine Miller –Health Department: agency going through accreditation, and working on Health Improvement Plan and school immunizations Vince Yaniga – SPVMH: retiring after 42 years in field Raquelle – Family Treatment Court opening in January 2017 Donna Solovey – Head Start/ Early Head Start: accepting applications for fall enrollment Andrew Binegar – PICCA: Fresh produce food pantries are now established in Circleville, Darby, Darbyville, Williamsport, and Ashville. Pick-up dates are the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Joy Ewing – JFS: Medicaid systems change took effect August 1st; this is a transition time for everyone but people may call the office with questions Kim Martin – FCFC: The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department is looking for extra resource guides to give people newly released. Agencies with extra should send them back to Kim. Information about Capita Family Law Center is available; this organization addresses minor legal needs pro bono for at- risk families. Nick Tatman – CPS: There were two adoptions in August, bringing the total of adopted children to eight for the year. School supplies are available on a first come/ first serve basis. The Haven House fish fry is September 23rd from 12 – 2. Roxanne Sigmon – Ohio Means Jobs: there are ten hiring events left in August Amanda Knotts – Brooks-Yates School: BYS has successfully moved to TV and school starts next Wednesday. Special Olympics Golf Scramble is September 25th. Dolly Crespo – YMCA: There are 16 children enrolled in Leadership Training through the YMCA. She is interested in learning more about services in Pickaway County. Dana Berryman – Parent Advocate: seeking new parent advocates Michelle Callahan – Pickaway County District Public Library: “Chalk It Up” event on Saturday; August 27th hosting featured women’s speakers; September 9th hosting community baby shower Bruce Rickerd – PICCA Transportation: There will be a meeting on September 7th at 9:30 to discuss transportation. Bruce is available to come to agencies to discuss transportation services that are available. Adjournment: A motion was made by Andy Binegar to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded by Randy Dockery.
