Community Meetings AP Gov Mr. Hayman

At least once per semester you will be required to go to a community meeting of elected officials. This can be a city council meeting, school board meeting, a meeting of the state legislature, or even of Congress. The purpose of this assignment is for you to see government in action.

Requirements: Go to a meeting of elected officials. Collect an agenda from the meeting and turn this in with your assignment Pay close attention to what is discussed at the meeting. Write a one page, single spaced précis of the meeting itself Write a ½ page reflection on the meeting. (What did you think of the meeting?)

This 1 ½ page assignment is due within two business days of the meeting itself. (Meeting on a Tuesday, write-up due on Thursday, etc.)

You have most of the semester to complete this assignment. However, the last day to turn in this assignment for first semester is January 9 and May 29 for second semester.
