The Regular Meeting of the Harding Township Board of Education will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 7:30pm, Middle School Building.

A G E N D A

Mission Statement The Harding Township School provides a strong educational foundation which inspires students to achieve academic excellence. Our dedicated faculty stimulates intellectual growth using a challenging curriculum within a supportive learning environment. We encourage students to become self-directed, lifelong learners who are well prepared for the academic and social challenges of the future.

2014-2015 District Goals 1: Ninety percent (90%) of students in each grade, K-5 shall pass, with 90% accuracy, a timed grade level “Math Facts Assessment.” This “Math Facts Assessment” shall be aligned to the Common Core State Standards and will assess students on the four core mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). 2: Ninety percent (90%) of students in grades K-8 shall improve by one point (one quintile) on the District Writing Assessment. This assessment shall be administered in the fall and again in the spring. Students scoring a perfect score of 5 in the fall and spring shall be counted as having met the goal. 3: To prepare each student for the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) and to communicate pertinent information to parents as detailed in the action plan. 4: To maintain and continue to build and develop the individual student data dashboard and use the information to guide the instructional process as detailed in the action plan.

01-019-15 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, declares that the Board President, the Superintendent of Schools, the Business Administrator/Board Secretary, the Architect of Record as Project Architect, Bond Counsel and other appropriate representatives of the Board of Education (the “Board Representatives”) are hereby authorized to submit any required educational plans and schematic plans for ADA renovations and other improvements to the elementary school student bathrooms (the “Project”) and such other information as may be required to the State Department of Education for approval and to make application to the Commissioner of Education on behalf of the Board for approval of any required educational plans, schematic plans and the Project and any required amendment to the School District’s long

The Project Architect is hereby or has authorized and delegated the responsibility to prepare the plans and specifications for the Project in consultation with and under the supervision of the Business Administrator/Board Secretary, who is hereby delegated the responsibility to work with the Project Architect for this purpose on behalf of the Board, all in accordance the requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-16.

Be It Further Resolved, that the Board Representatives are further authorized to prepare for the proposed lease purchase financing of the Project, including arranging for necessary publications and acquiring a title report for one or more of the facilities involved as necessary.

01-021-15 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, accepts the resignation of Ms. Allison Hunter from Peer Tutor, effective March 13, 2015.

01-022-15 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the following Extra- curricular assignments, at the indicated stipend:

Ms. Allison Hunter, Assistant Track Coach, stipend $3,390, for the 2014-15 season.

Ms. Brittany Hudock, School Psychologist, at an annual salary of $58,505 (MA+30 Step 1) prorated to $29,252.50, effective February 1 thru June 30, 2015.

01-024-15 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves Ms. Nicole Donohue as substitute teacher, as needed, for the 2014-2015 school year.

01-025-15 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the following Leave of Absence:

Ms. Joey Tsai, Teacher, Middle School, Maternity Leave of Absence, from April 13 thru June 8, 2015, using 40 sick days, as per HTEA contract. Family Medical Leave, unpaid from June 9, 2015 through November 23, 2015; and Personal Leave, unpaid, from November 24, 2015 through December 31, 2015; health benefits provided during Family Medical Leave and additional leave per HTEA Agreement, employee subject to mandatory health benefit contributions during FMLA and subsequent additional leave.
