Motion passed Quilt Show: Pam Wright/Mary Meserve  Most committee chair positions are filled.  Two committees still need chairs – Equipment manager and Boutique.  Delilah Pebbles is available to assist with the boutique but cannot act as chair due to work obligations.  Raffle tickets are ordered and will be ready for the Creative Arts Festival, April 17, 18, 19.  The next quilt show meeting is scheduled April 23 at 10:00 at the police substation on 22nd at Alvernon. Kathy will ask Meg to change the message to include that information.  Rental on the mailbox is past due – we are locked out of the box. Donations: Fran Braverman – no report Endowment: Mary Perry  Phyllis Bannister will speak at the April general meeting about the endowment  Barbara Polston from the AZ Quilters’ Hall of Fame will speak at the May meeting Education: Shari Thompson  The Amphi project (Prince Elementary has ended.  Jan will coordinate final quilt completion.  Desert Springs 4th grade project is set for 4/17 & 4/18. While there are enough volunteers, anyone else who wants to help should call Shari @ 834-4245.  Many Hands Quilt, completed at the Quilt Fiesta, was donated to Child Life at UMC. 1  Fingerprinting (required to work in the public schools) costs approx $25. Each school district requires their own set of fingerprints. Hospitality: No report Library: Donata Pfisterer /Kathryn Wald - no report Long Range Planning: Mary Perry  Committee members to include Phyllis Bannister, Phyllis Schaeffer, Phyllis Spalla, Kenci Lewis, Rose Neff, Joyce States, Kathryn Wald Membership: Peg Clampet  Currently we have 520 paid members for 2008  About 10 more came in the mail, yet to be processed  Membership is looking for sponsors for new members.  Ideas to identify new member at meetings include . Put year joined on plastic membership card holder . Use old raffle tickets for new members to pass out to existing members who talk to them. Then raffle tickets could by placed in drawing for fat quarters. Members-at-large: Laura Cotter/Colleen Babcock  No report Katrina Outreach: needs chair Newsletter: Kathy Harris  April newsletter goes in the mail after the business meeting.  It went out by email on Monday, 3/31  Needs board roster and committee chairs lists for website  Needs approved budget for website  All articles are needed for the next month’s newsletter no later than the last Wednesday of the month. Kathy uses font: Arial and size: 10 for ease of reading.  Nominations should be in the May newsletter for the endowment and membership chair positions. NQA: Jo Cady-Bull – no report Programs: Lois Podolny/Nancy Arseneault  July: Round Robin has 2 presentations planned, still need 3 more  August: Quilt-a-thon  There is still room in both Thursday and Friday workshops with Bethany Reynolds.  Chairs are currently working on speakers for 2010/2011 Pins: Patty Kruse  Needs to get guild pins from Suzy Weaver Place Mats: Nancy Clarke – no report Quilt-a-thon: Pam Wright/Flora Alderman  Currently making kits for quilt-a-thon. These are also available for anyone who wants to take one home to make.  Asking for money to purchase a die cutter to cut strips for quilts. This machine would help with Quilting for others and quilt-a-thon preparations.  Beth offered the use of her Alto cutter in the interim.  There are some quilts ready to be tied, some ready to layer.  There will be dates posted for helpers to work cutting kits at the storage locker. Quilting for Others: Pam Wright/ Flora Alderman  There was no quilt delivery in March  There is now a stack of quilts ready for delivery.  Shrouds are still needed for babies – some as small as a 10” square. Pattern will be available at the general meetings. These may be quilted, knitted, or crocheted.  Habitat for Humanity project still needs 12 queen size quilts and 7 full size quilts.  Rural Metro fire/the police department/chemo centers are outlets for future quilt donations. Raffle Quilts:  2009 Charlene Didjurgis - quilt is now quilted; waiting for binding.  2010 Charlene Didjurgis – there will be a cutting session at Bella’s on 4/21 and on 5/1 (if needed).  2011 Kenci Lewis 2 T-Shirts: Mary Bazzano  The t-shirt challenge is in the newsletter Website: Meg Silvern – no report Old Business:  No one has information yet about the cradle board.  Flora and Pam are ready for the Creative Arts Festival on 4/17-18-19.  Help is needed at the booth of those days.  There will be a photograph of the raffle quilt to help sell the tickets.  There will be a cheater fabric quilt to be quilted on a frame in the booth.  Muslin squares with crayons will be available for children to help make quilt squares.  Crazy quilting with scraps will be demonstrated.  Quilts to be tied may be used in the booth. New Business:  Request from Saddlebrook Friday Quilters to sell raffle tickets for 4 quilts. The raffle is to benefit Pinal County CPS  Motion to allow by Colleen Babcock  Second by Joan Swanson . Motion passed  There are unclaimed Christmas blocks that are 2 years old. If these blocks are not claimed this month it is recommended that they be given to placemats.  Kenci asked about plans to schedule alternating day/evening business meetings. Beth will look into scheduling the room for evening meetings.
