Research Proposal Format (Please read and follow carefully)

1. Cover sheet including the following information (1 page)

Applicant’s name Applicant’s address, telephone number and e-mail Applicant’s pursuing degree and the institutional/organizational affiliation (where appropriate) Title of the research proposal

2. Abstract of the research proposal with key words (half page)

3. Narrative of the proposal (maximum of 8 pages)

Introduction: Background information, rationale of the research work, analytical literature review and objectives of the research (2 pages) Methodology: Details of field methods, research design, and analysis to be used and research questions to be answered (2 pages) Study area description and total duration of research work (1 page, map can be inserted as extra) Expected outputs of the research work (half page) Relevance and contribution to the conservation work WWF Nepal Programme (1 page) Budget: If funds are being sought from WWF Nepal Small Grants for partial support then the proposal budget should clearly state this (1 page)

4. Curriculum vitae of the researcher and direct supervisor.

5. Letter of endorsement or recommendation from the research guide under whose supervision the student proposes to work for the research project, in institutional letter head with institutional seal. The letter of endorsement should also mention if the same grant proposal has been sent for funding to another agency. If partial funds are being sought from WWF Nepal Small Grants then the proposal budget should clearly state this.

6. Signature of applicant signifying the truth and correctness of the above.

7. Research permit should be retained by applicant, if required.
