Job Title: Junior Sharepoint Developer

Job Description Job title: Junior SharePoint Developer Reports to: International Head of IT

Background

World Animal Protection relies significantly on Information Technology (IT) to support its work to improve the lives of animals across the globe. The International Resources team, of which the International IT function is a part, exists to support World Animal Protection in achieving its animal welfare objectives by providing the processes, support, tools, information, and infrastructure that each team and department needs. With 15 offices and an International team, World Animal Protection is a truly global movement for animals. We have all agreed to a shared vision and strategy which we can only achieve if we work together, collaboratively. The first SharePoint solution was introduced at World Animal Protection in 2012. It followed a scoping study into knowledge and information management which identified the need for a traditional corporate intranet site delivering news stories and finished documents. A second phase of development completed in 2014 looked broadly at collaborative working and the introduction of SharePoint team sites and community sties. This phase of the project also saw SharePoint migrated from on premise to Microsoft Office 365. To date we have deployed the following services for the global organisation on Office 365 – SharePoint, Exchange (email and calendars), OneDrive and Office Web apps. We also have our Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution on Office 365 and plan to move our finance solution, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, to the same platform. We are committed to building an integrated, user-centric, digital workplace for the whole organisation. To this end we are looking to recruit a developer to join our team and help us to leverage the capabilities of SharePoint, and the other Microsoft ‘NexGen’ portals. Projects already identified for the coming year include development of electronic forms and workflow, integration of Dynamics CRM and NAV with SharePoint, improving the usability and functionality of team sites, and the introduction of more social elements to our solutions. The Role

We are looking to recruit an individual who will help make SharePoint truly indispensable to the way World Animal Protection and its employees work. The Junior SharePoint Developer will be the lead technical resource responsible for the design and development of SharePoint based solutions and compatible technologies within the Microsoft stack, including Microsoft ‘NexGen’ portals. Principally working on the Office 365 platform, the Developer will primarily take an out of the box approach but will include code based components as and when required. The Developer will be integral in building a digital workplace designed to deliver powerful user experiences and serve employee needs across the organisation. It is very likely that this will involve incorporating different systems beyond traditional intranet publishing and collaborating, such as CRM, HR and finance systems. It will also very likely include the integration and implementation of enterprise social networking tools into the digital workplace. The successful candidate will have a passion for engaging, user centred design and for building solutions which are both intuitive and empowering. The role reports to the International Head of IT but will need to liaise closely with the CRM Manager and the International Internal Communications Manager.
