Policy: All work submitted for internal assessments and practice external assessments will be filed. Any mark given may appealed, in the first instance to the teacher, provided the student initiates the appeal within one week of receiving the mark and provided the student has not yet signed the mark sheet. Each achievement standard will be assessed on two occasions. THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER REASSESSMENT! Students will be required to verify in writing that assessments are their own work unless carried out under examination conditions. Illness & Late Submission Students missing assessments due to illness will need to provide a doctor’s note or equivalent as proof.
Entry requirements for Scholarship Physics This is an optional examination, based on the material covered in the NCEA Level 3 syllabus. This examination tests a student’s knowledge, understanding and reasoning in more depth than the NCEA Level 3 examinations. There are no special entry requirements. Possible candidates will be identified during terms 1 & 2 and given extra work and guidance to prepare them for the Scholarship examination.
Fees: Students will be expected to buy a Year 13 Physics Course Manual, which we will be using for homework, notes and revision. This is available through the College. Cost approximately $22.00. Students will also be expected to purchase general stationery as indicated in the stationery list.
