The two articles I have chosen are:

Why do parents become involved in their children's education? by Hoover-Dempsey and

Sandler.

The effect of teacher-family communication on student engagement: evidence from a randomized field experiment by Kraft and Dougherty.

Both the articles are pieces of scholarly work and have been written after extensive research and literature review. Therefore, the information contained in them is likely to be accurate. Both the articles are independent pieces of research. Author bias is hence reduced since there are no special interests behind the research.

The articles have been published in peer reviewed journals. Therefore, experts have had the opportunity to verify the information they present. This makes the information more reliable than information obtained from blogs or from special interest websites.

What I have found interesting is that there is a wealth of information on the action research proposal. One of the modifications I shall consider making is to narrow my area of research and concentrate on parental involvement at a specific level in the schooling system rather than looking at parental involvement in totality.
