Extinguishing media CO2, foam, dry powder. In case of larger fires, waterspray should be used. Special hazards In the event of a fire, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, isocyanate vapour and traces of hydrogen cyanide may be released. Protective equipment Fire fighters must wear self contained breathing apparatus. ------6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Do not empty into drains. Remove mechanically; cover the remainder with wet, absorbent material (eg. Sawdust, chemical binder based on calcium silicate hydrate, sand). After approximately one hour transfer the waste container and do not seal (evolution of CO2). Keep damp in a safe ventilated area for several days. Further disposal: Storage on approved landfill or special refuse dump, or by incineration. ------7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Keep container dry and tightly closed in a cool, well ventilated place. Ensure adequate ventilation or exhaust ventilation in the working area. Exhaust ventilation is necessary if the product is sprayed. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. ------8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

For exposure controls see Section 15. Wear suitable protective clothing, protective gloves (made of PVC or rubber) and protective goggles/mask. Respiratory protection is required in insufficiently ventilated working areas and during spraying. An air-fed mask, or for short periods of work, a combination of charcoal filter and particulate filter is recommended. In case of hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract (eg. asthmatics and those who suffer from chronic bronchitis) it is inadvisable to work with the product. Keep away from foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Keep working clothes separate. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. ------9. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

STABILITY AND REACTIVITY

Hazardous decomposition products: No hazardous decomposition products when stored and handled correctly. Hazardous reactions: Exothermic reaction with amines and alcohols; reacts slowly with water forming CO2, in closed containers risk of bursting owing to increase of pressure. Further information: The release of hexamethylene diisocyanate is to be expected when force drying aqueous, overcrosslinked coating systems at temperatures of 900C and above. ------Page 2 of 4 11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Acute toxicity: LD50 - Oral - Rat > 5000 mg/kg. Skin and mucous membrane compatibility, rabbit: Skin 4 hours exposure – slightly irritant Eyes – slight reddening and swelling No pulmonary sensitisation observed in animal test: No pulmonary sensitisation potential was observed in the guinea pig model after either intradermal or inhalative induction with polyisocyanate based on hexamethylene diisocyanate. Skin sensitisation according to Buehler: In the guinea pig the product did not show a sensitising effect. Skin sensitisation according to Magnusson/Kligmann : In the guinea pig the product has a sensitising effect. Salmonella/microsome test: No indication of mutagenic effects.

Special properties/effects: Over exposure, especially during spraying operations without the necessary precautions, entails the risk of concentration-dependent irritating effects on eyes, nose, throat and respiratory tract. Delayed appearance of the complaints and development of hypersensitivity (difficulty breathing, coughing, asthma) are possible. Hypersensitive persons may suffer from these effects even at a low isocyanate concentrations. In case of longer contact with skin, tanning and irritating effects are possible. ------12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Do not allow to escape into waters, waste water or soil. The product reacts with water at the interface forming CO2 and a solid insoluble product with high melting point (polyurea). This reaction is accelerated by surfactants (eg. detergents) or by water-soluble solvents. ------13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

May be incinerated in a suitable facility provided local regulations are observed. Empty containers may be disposed of after neutralising any product remaining on the walls of the container with a mixture of isopropanol, ammonia and water. Afterwards, remove warning labels. ------14. TRANSPORT INFORMATION

Contains isocyanates. Symbol Irritant Risk (R) and safety phrases (S) R43 May cause sensitisation by skin contact. S24 Avoid contact with skin.

The European Committee of Paint, Printing Ink and Artists’ Colours Manufacturers’ Associations (CEPE) provides the following information on coatings containing isocyanates. Ready-to-use paints containing isocyanates may have an irritant effect on mucous membranes – especially on breathing organs – and cause hypersensitivity reactions. Inhalation of vapour or spray mist may cause sensitisation. When handling paints containing isocyanates all precautions required for solvent-containing paints must be followed. Vapour and spray mist in particular should not be inhaled. Allergics and asthmatics as well as people prone to respiratory ailments should not work with isocyanate containing paints.

Maximum Exposure Limit (MEL) all isocyanates (as –NCO): 0.02 mg/m3 (8 hr TWA), 0.07 mg/m3 (15 min STEL). Any existing national regulations on the handling of isocyanates must be observed. ------16. OTHER INFORMATION

ANTI-GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE BASE AND HARDNER COO-VAR ANTI-GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE

DESCRIPTION COO-VAR ANTI -GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE is a surface sealer for application to masonry surfaces to reduce surface absorbency and ensure ease of cleaning in hygienic locations.

Composition Two Pack Water Based polyurethane resin system

Appearance Gloss clear finish.

Durability Impact and abrasive resistant clear surface sealer.

Typical Installations COO-VAR ANTI -GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE, can be used where high hygiene prevails.

Substrates COO-VAR ANTI -GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE, adheres well to concrete and brickwork. It can also be applied to sound existing paintwork.

Surface Preparation It is essential that all surfaces are laitence free, clean, dry and free from any contaminants such as loose particles, dust, grease, oils, fats and water.

Application COO-VAR ANTI-GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE, when mixed is an off white paste/emulsion which can be applied using a brush or roller to achieve an even applied coverage.

Application Conditions Air temperature 5-30C, Humidity 85% RH maximum, non condensing.

Mixing The entire contents of the hardener tin must be added to the resin base and mixed thoroughly, preferably with a low speed drill and mixing paddle for two minutes ensuring the mixing action takes in full depth and perimeter of the container. Coverage COO-VAR ANTI -GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE covers 14-18 square metres per kit. COO-VAR ANTI -GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE is supplied in 2.5 kilo kits.

Curing Schedule COO-VAR ANTI -GRAFFITI LACQUER CLEAR GLAZE will dry clear in one or two hours and generally will be tack free overnight. Full cure is achieved in three to seven days under ambient conditions

Handling precautions Coo-Var resins and hardeners are generally harmless in use provided that certain precautions normally taken when handling chemicals are observed. The uncured material must not be allowed to come into contact with foodstuffs or food utensils, and measures should also be taken to prevent skin contact, since people with sensitive skin may be affected. The use of protective clothing, barrier creams, gloves and goggles is recommended. The skin should be thoroughly washed at the end of each working period, using either soap and water or resin removing creams. Do not wash the skin with cleaning solvents. Adequate ventilation in the working area is recommended. In case of accidental mouth or eye contact - wash thoroughly with clean water if in any doubt - consult a doctor immediately.

Read hazard warning labels on product containers. Ask for product safety sheet.
