Aggieland Classic -- College Station, Texas February 6&7, 2016

Meals – The Club provides lunch after the first game for each team under the Westwood tent. For dinner, we are ordering boxed sandwich suppers from Panera Bread and will have an assortment of drinks, snacks and sweets for sides to round out the meal. We have taken orders from most the girls and contacted the rest to complete the order. Any parents and coaches who prefer to order-in instead of going out to eat, can email Janna Melton at [email protected]. Orders are due by Wednesday, February 3. All who order must bring $10 to Aggieland to cover the cost of their meal. Meals will be distributed at the hotel Saturday evening so that the girls can relax, bond and get ready for the next days’ games. Parents may go out to eat instead, but the girls will stay together at the hotel, with one exception (see note about college lacrosse game below). The Coaches will announce a time for the girls to meet for breakfast (included) in the hotel and at the fields on Sunday. The girls should bring money for lunch on the way home after their game Sunday.

Need a Ride – Parents are responsible for their daughters’ transportation to and from Aggieland. If you are a parent who is not attending, please coordinate with another parent who is attending for a ride for your daughter. If you are unable to find a ride for your daughter, then please email Janna Melton at [email protected] for a list of parents who have offered to drive girls.

Can Give a Ride --Parents, if you are willing to drive other girls to Aggieland and/or back to Austin, then please email Janna Melton at [email protected].

Schedule and Location – The game schedule can be downloaded at the following link: http://media.hometeamsonline.com/photos/lacrosse/WARRIORSPORTS- WOMENSLACROSSE/2016_Aggieland_Final_Sched.pdf. Both JV and Varsity will play two games Saturday and one game Sunday. Coach Susan wants the Varsity to arrive at the fields no later than 11:00 am for Varsity’s first game at 12:10. Coach Hannah wants the JV to arrive at the fields no later than 10:30 for JV’s first game at 11:20. Please allow TWO hours for the drive to College Station. Look for Westwood’s tall orange flag shaped like a feather in order to find Westwood’s tent. The games will be played at the Penberthy Rec Sports Complex. Directions to the Penberthy Rec Sports Complex.

What to Pack – Parents, we need one more easy-up and a tarp to cover the ground. If you can bring either of these, then please email Janna Melton at [email protected]. There are bleachers, but they fill up, so you may want to bring camp chairs. Girls, The current forecast is sunny, highs in the mid-60’s and lows in the low 40’s, but please check the forecast before packing to make sure you are prepared. Here is a list of things not to forget!

1. PHOTO ID – school or driver’s license 2. Uniform: uniform jersey and skirt, practice jersey, sport bras, spandex, shooter shirts, socks, team jacket, plus cold/rain weather items, if needed: long/sleeve shirt, leggings, sweats, head bands, earmuffs, gloves, hand warmers and rain gear. 3. Equipment: stick, goggles, mouthguards, shoes/cleats, water bottle, and backpack 4. Sunscreen ~ you'll be outside the majority of the time 5. SMALL BAG for clothes, pj's, toiletries, shoes (carpools may not have room for full-size luggage), plus optional items like a blanket, pillow, snacks, drinks, or cards/games. 6. Phone charger. Parking -- The Men’s Aggie Basketball game at 3pm on Saturday is sold out, so you are encouraged to park in Lots 100d and 100m before 12pm. After that, those lots could be full or you will be required to pay $5 per vehicle. Alternative parking will be in Lot 63 (at the old horse center on the corner of George Bush and Penberthy Dr, catty-corner from Penberthy). It is farther than the Lots 100d and 100m (on Penberthy Dr. just off George Bush Dr). Here is a parking map: http://transportmap.tamu.edu/parkingmap/tsmap.htm?map=timed.

Curfew – We will announce a curfew, after which the girls must stay in their rooms so that we can do a room check before bedtime. There will be no going back and forth between rooms (even to parent’s rooms) or buildings after the curfew.

Aggieland Reservations -- The block is full, but there may still be studio rooms available at the TownePlace Suites in Bryan/College Station. The phone number and website for reservations and information is 979-260-8500 and http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/clltb-towneplace- suites-bryan-college-station/. Our team has reserved and paid for the rooms for the girls. For parents in the block, in order to cancel a room, you must cancel your reservation no later than February 1, 2016, or you may be subject to having to pay for your room anyway. If weather becomes a factor, the team will make a decision by February 1 about whether to cancel the player rooms.

Shirts and the College Game -- Short sleeve shirts are being sold for $20 and long sleeves for $25 along with a variety of alternate cool merchandise. They are only accepting cash this year. The Texas A&M Women's Lacrosse team will be playing Baylor University on 2/6 at 6pm at Penberthy on field 9. If you would like to attend, then you may do so, but transportation will not be provided and parents must let Janna Melton [email protected] know in advance if their daughter has permission to attend and who will be driving her.
