PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Technical Director of The Palo Alto Children’s Theater. March 2004 through June 2006 Producing more than 25 shows a year while managing all aspects of production. Contracting designers, carpenters and painters for most productions while contributing hands on experience in all areas. Maintain construction tools and technical equipment and ordering of all supplies related to production. Teaching and managing backstage crew members comprised entirely of children. Work directly with children and parent volunteers in a close and instructive environment. Production Director for Christian Community Theater. March 1998 through January 2004 Produced more than 21 children’s musicals a year in addition to four adult Broadway style musicals per year. Responsible for all aspects of production including, the design, construction and painting of all scenery, the purchasing of construction materials, tools and supplies relating to the productions up to and including lighting and sound equipment. Maintained budgets, created production schedules, oversight of rental contracts, and special needs contracts. In addition to creating quality aesthetics, provided for the structural safety of the scenery and staging while maintaining a safe work environment for the staff, crew, and performers. Skilled carpenter and scenic artist with experience in theatrical rigging and welding. Accomplished scenic designer.
