Did you ever build a tower out of blocks and then someone came by and knocked it over? Today let’s look at the most exciting part 10 Week of the story – the walls of Jericho crashed down! POOF! BANG! CRASH! SPLAT! There they went. The walls around the city were probably about 13 feet thick and went all the way around the city. When they went down, that must have been some pile of rock and stone. Talk about a clean up! I wonder if anybody inside Victory! the city yelled, “HEY! Who knocked over my walls? I’m telling!” And into the city went Joshua and the Israelites! At the end of Joshua 6 it says that the Lord was with Joshua. Joshua and his army had been walking around the walls for a whole week. You Devotional have been reading this devotional for the whole week (I hope). On the last day of the week, Joshua and his army had the VICTORY – the walls came down. Week 3 Activity: The walls of Jericho were pretty tall and pretty thick. How many books can you stack on your head without them falling over? Try it!

Prayer Idea for Today: Dear Jesus, I know people that have put Written by Pastor Linda Schreck walls around their hearts and lives so that You can’t live inside of them. Maybe you already had heard that true story before. Did you say “I already know Today’s part of the story we are going to look at is how God saved that story!” You’ll probably hear it a lot more times as you get older. Do a whole family because of one person. Rahab had helped Joshua’s you get tired hearing a story a second time? I do sometimes if it is a men get a good look at the city of Jericho before they started boring story. But if it is a TRUE BIBLE STORY, then I NEVER get their walk around the walls of the city. Because Rahab had helped bored hearing it again. That’s because God always shows me something God’s men, God was going to save Rahab when the walls went new in the story every time I hear it or read it. God is alive and His crashing down. But did you know that it wasn’t only Rahab that Word becomes alive in our hearts. During the next few days, we’re going was saved? In Joshua 6:23, 25 it tells us that her whole family to look at some things in the story of Joshua and the walls of Jericho was saved to all because of Rahab. Rahab did the right thing when that maybe you never noticed were in the story before. Let’s ask God she helped God’s men, even though she hadn’t always done the to show us new things from this true story – and He can do it since He is right thing before. Did you ever notice this before in the story of Joshua and the battle of My 4 sons play musical instruments: one plays the trumpet, 2 play Jericho: In Joshua 6:2, God tells Joshua that God had already given the saxophone and one plays the tuba! Before Joshua and his army ever took one step around instruments is definitely NOT one of their favorite things to do, the walls of Jericho, God told Joshua that he had already won the city. but since I’m the mommy, I make them practice! Do you Why did Joshua and the army have to walk around the walls of Jericho remember that God had told Joshua to not have anybody say a for 6 days and then do it 7 times on day 7 before the walls came word while they were walking around the walls of the city of tumbling down, if God told Joshua the city was already his before they started? Couldn’t they have skipped all that walking and just gone into Jericho? They were to be absolutely QUIET! Well, not the city and said, “Excuse me, but this city is now ours!” God knows the ABSOLUTELY quiet! God had the trumpet players playing their end of things even before things begin. God was telling Joshua the end trumpets! I wonder if those trumpet players use to complain of the story even before the story had started! I have to admit, I love about practicing their trumpets when they were kids? I wonder if to know ahead of time how something ends – I always read the last pages their lips got tired of doing all that trumpet playing or if their of a book before I read the first page! I wonder if Joshua was that way arms got tired of holding the trumpets? I wonder? But I’m SURE too. Knowing that God had already won the battle gave Joshua lots of they were glad they had practiced when they were walking around faith and confidence to start that walk around Jericho, I’m sure. And the walls of Jericho, playing for God. All that practicing came in you know what – we know the ending of our story too! We’ll all be in real handy, because they got to use their talent for God and Heaven one day, shouting the VICTORY that God gave us through His watch God do a miracle right before their eyes while they were Son, Jesus! That gives me the confidence to keep walking with Jesus here on earth! That’s one happy ending I can’t wait to see! playing their trumpets.
